Basil Butter

I followed the recipe as written, and liked it. I would cut the salt in half next time or even omit since my butter was salted and use fresh garlic. I would also cut down on the pepper (half). I used garlic pepper. This recipe would be great in many dishes, the basil flavor is wonderful.

Whole Wheat Beer Bread

I really enjoyed this bread. It's very dense, but that is to be expected without yeast and using whole wheat flour. It has great flavor. I used a large individual can of Heineken, which worked out perfectly to make two loaves. I baked them at the same time and they were done in about 55 minutes.

Peanut Butter Frosting

This frosting is out of this world good. It also had a wonderful consistency so it was easy to work with. I did have to add more cream using the 4 cups confectioners sugar, but had no problems with this recipe at all. I iced chocolate cupcakes with it and they were just wonderful. Thanks for this recipe!

Colombian Stewed Flank

My family really raved about this one. It was delicious. I would definitely try it in the slow cooker or possibly give it another half an hour of simmer time, because mine could have been just a tiny bit more tender. I made homemade pico and rice and beans with this...it was a huge hit in my house!

Bacon Roasted Chicken

I thought this was very good. But as far as roasted chickens, it's not the best recipe I've tried. I replaced the carrot with onion and used beef bouillon and water to baste the chicken. I served it with mashed potatoes and Zucchini Parmesan bread (Taste of Home recipe).

Cake Balls

I'm torn on this one. My experience with these wasn't great. I used German Chocoalte cake and mixed in about half a can of Cream Cheese frosting. I used a scoop to ball them, which went well. I froze them and then went to dip them in the 20 oz of vanilla bark I bought. Well, #1-that wasn't enough vanilla bark if it had actually worked and #2-the bark didn't melt right and started hardening back up instantly, even on low heat. I tried adding a little vegetable oil but to no avail. So, after only covering about 5 cake balls with this messy bark, I pulled out a jar of the new "glaze" icing and just squeezed it on top of the rest of the cake balls. They're not pretty. And these are way too sweet for my tastes-and gooey. I can see the potential in this recipe and I may be willing to try again if I was happy with the taste. I probably won't put the effort into these again and was wishing I would have just made the cake.

Bruschetta Chicken Bake

This was very well received at my house. I followed the recipe exactly, and it was excellent. I wouldn't change anything, but I was thinking that another way you could take this is to use Mexican spices, cumin and adobo...use Rotel...then use cornbread dressing and cheddar cheese instead of mozzarella. Just a thought.....

I found that the rice mixture was alot, enough for 6 servings. It also needed kick, cumin or chili powder needed, as other reviewers have said. It's not a bad recipe though....

Tiny Pecan Tarts

Like other reviewers, I had leftover filling. It's too much to waste, so I stuck it in the fridge and will make a crust tonight and make a mini pie. These tarts are very good, the crust is crumbly and they're just sweet and gooey and yummy.

Honey Roasted Red Potatoes

I doubled this, using 2 lbs of new potatoes. But I didn't double the amount of mustard. (not a mustard fan and wasn't sure if I'd like that) They turned out really well. Next time I may cut the butter in half. I think that would work just fine and save on fat and calories. This is a good recipe.

Slow Cooker Tender and Yummy Round Steak

I think this could definitely be better. I agree with alot of others, it's bland and I think the reason was too much water. I had to salt the heck out of it. The gravy was runny also. I have made other slow cooker recipes using cream of mushroom and soup mix and they have come out much better, making a wonderful gravy. Sot it wasn't BAD, just not impressive.

I liked the ease of this recipe. The ingredients are so easy and something I always have in the pantry. It was very filling and made alot. Some cheese on top would be good, but it was good without as well.

Italian White Bean and Pancetta Soup

This recipe was delicious as written. I halved the recipe, but did add another cup of broth. It was slightly salty but I think had I used low sodium broth it would have fixed that problem. I have never used pancetta, and I was pleasantly surprised at the flavor.

Southwestern Pasta Salad

The combination of black beans, corn and cilantro always goes over well in my family, so we enjoyed this recipe. I made it as written and served it with grilled chicken. It was a nice light and easy dinner. My family has asked me to make this again so it will be put in my regular rotation.
