About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Breads, pies, cookies, Indian food
My favorite family cooking traditions
My paternal family were a bunch of great cooks, including someone way back who cooked for the Russian Tsar, might even have been their main chef!
My cooking triumphs
French baguette - this has taken me over 11 years to perfect, recipe coming soon.
My cooking tragedies
A lot of them, even now, and then there's the "too much salt" issue that can happen...

Amish White Bread
It's great bread. You can safely cut down the enormous amount of sugar in it if you wish unless you like it slightly sweet.

Soft-N-Fluffy Hamburger Buns
I've made several of the hamburger bun recipes here at allrecipes & this one is by far the best if you want soft, fluffy light buns. This is the 2nd time I made this, the first time I used Gold Medal Better for Bread flour, this time I used Central Milling Organic Artisan Malted Type 70 flour & added 1 tablespoon for the recipe. I made this for 14 servings as I have a burger pan (6) and a hot dog pan (8). It came out really great. Soft and fluffy. This is the best buns recipe so far that I've ever made. EDIT: I used a Cuisinart Stand Mixer for this recipe & added more water than called for in the recipe, so watch the water, they can be on the dry side, so you will probably need more water than it says.

Picante Chicken Rice Burritos
This was a great recipe. My husband went nuts. We also made our own tortillas for it as well (even better). Instead of chili powder I used a serrano pepper.
