Queijadas

Delicious custardy goodness! tastes slightly like the egg custards they have at a local Chinese restaurant, but lighter and sweeter.

Puppy Chow

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
I make this recipe with white chocolate chips and it has a flavor more reminiscent of tiger butter - it is delicious! I also used the crunchy corn bran cereal, and it doesn't detract from the flavor. **Some hints** If you choose to microwave the chocolate, heat it at 50% power for 30 seconds and stir until the bowl has cooled down, then put back in for 15 second intervals, stirring until the bowl cools inbetween. If you don't do this, your chocolate will get lumpy and crumbly and taste burnt. Also, if there is any water in your bowl, the chocolate will get lumpy, so make sure the bowl is thoroughly dry. after mixing in the cereal, cool in the fridge for at least 5 minutes, or it will soak up too much powdered sugar and be sickeningly sweet.

Berry Smoothie

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2008
This is an okay starting point if you've never found a good smoothie recipe, however, it is entirely too thick as per the directions and tastes like pureed fruit with milk in it. My 7 year old didn't really like it. By the time we got it to tasting okay, we had added another cup of milk, a cup of orange juice, and another cup and a half of fruit.

Spiced Applesauce Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2003
THIS ONE"S A KEEPER! I am definitely a beginner when it comes to baking, but this was really easy! And it took very little time to prepare. I didn't have allspice, so I used a dash each of ginger and cloves, and used 3 eggwhites instead of two whole eggs. Also I used Motts chunky applesauce, so there are little apple chunks throughout. Next time I'll play with extract flavors or maybe chocolate chips...

Blueberry Monkey Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2003
Mmmm, delicious! THis takes me back to when I was young and we'd get stickybuns for 75 cents... I didn't have canned biscuits, so I used 2 packages of "bisquick complete cinnamon swirl" biscuits and made a 1/2 recipe in a 8X8 square pan. cooking time was closer to 45-50 mins, and I used raisins instead of blueberries. Also, I just dumped the extra couple of Tbsp sugar/cinnamon mixture from rolling the dough in into the syrup, so it is thicker & less gooey. One thing I need to stress is that you should invert this over a cake plate immediately! If you wait for it to cool, it won't want to come out due to the syrup hardening. This would be amazing with chopped walnuts as well. I would layer them under the dough so that when the syrup goes through to the bottom and you invert it, therewould be a caramely walnutty topping. YUmmy!

Cool Whip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2003
These should be called "cool whip CAKEies" they were like little cupcakes, not cookies and turned hard by the next day. I added 1tsp of almond extract since I only had white cake mix. There are better recipes out there.

Yum, this was good. Added baking powder as suggested by another reviewer, and then added shredded coconut and served with banana syrup.
