Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2006
I had some salmon ready to grill and ran across this recipe. I didn't have time to marinade it so I just brushed all sides of the salmon and put in on the grill. I basted it often and was very pleased with the results. It is the best salmon I've ever eaten! My family loved it! The only change I'll make next time is to marinade it in the sauce for the time recommended. Thank you very much for the recipe. 10+

Frosted Banana Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2006
My 35 years of looking for a good banana bar recipe is over! These were absolutely fabulous. Very moist and flavorful. The only change I made was to substitute yogurt for the sour cream. Used my own recipe for creme cheese frosting. They were a hit for a church function!! Thanks for a great recipe!

Seven Layer Taco Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2005
I should have used only 1/2 the taco seasoning because the beans were way salty. Also, I wouldn't use a platter because this dish spreads. The dish you put it in needs to have some depth. The lettuce is a little awkward to dip into with a chip so either tear the lettuce into smaller pieces or omit them. We did eat a lot of this dip, although next time I would make some major tweeks in the recipe.

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2005
Good stuff! This is more like a chocolate cake than a brownie consistancy. Nice dark brown color, dense chocolate cake texture. Moist. I didn't make the frosting. It didn't need it! Thank you for the recipe.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2005
These cookies were were the best chocolate chip cookies I've tried. I followed the recipe as is. Baked in my convection oven at 335 degrees, 3 pans at a time for about 8 min. Better than Toll House. Be sure to cream the butter well. It really makes a huge difference in your cookie. Thanks for such a great recipe!

Three Bean Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2005
Very good stuff! I used 1/2 c. sugar instead of 3/4 c. I also cut down the oil. I used about 2 T of olive oil and it tastes great, even though I have not put it in the fridge overnight yet! mmmmmmmmm Thanks for the recipe!

Pumpkin Bread IV

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2004
This recipe is jam packed full of flavor! It's not a heavy dense bread, but more light, which I like. It made 4 mini loaves and one large loaf. I used raisins and cranraisins. Perfect for a winter day! If I make this recipe again I would definately use less clove and less sugar since I felt if was a little overpowering.

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2004
Oh my!! This was the first time I've ever made cut out buscuits and was I ever impressed. They are tall, huge and yummy! The dough was a bit sticky, but maybe this is the way it's suppose to be. I used lots of flour to keep it from sticking to the table and the glass that I cut out the dough with. Thanks for the recipe. It's one of my favorites!!

One of the best bread recipes I have! I love the sweetness of the dough and how high the dough raised. I've made it twice so far. It is especially good warm out of the oven. mmmmmm

A-Number-1 Banana Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2004
Baked this in a 9X13 pan for about 35 minutes. I liked the texture and moistness of this cake. Instead of adding nuts to the cake, I sprinkled a few on top. Adding 4 bananas to this recipe was a plus since most recipes only require 2 bananas. I will be making this one very soon. Thanks for sharing!

Best Brownies

PERFECT BROWNIES!! I could eat the whole pan! Next time I'll add milk chocolate chips to the batter. I creamed the butter and cocoa powder till fluffy instead of melting the butter in the sauce pan. Didnt try the frosting. I just dusted with powerdered sugar and served them on a plate. Beautiful!

WONDERFUL RECIPE!! Made this last night and today I could not stop eating this coleslaw!! It was very, very good. I used low fat mayo and it turned out fabulous. I also added some of the vinegar to skim milk to substitute for the buttermilk. Thank you for the recipe!

Margaret's Southern Chocolate Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2004
I was sorry I made this. Make this pie on July 4th and everyone remarked that this pie was way tooo sweet. I think one needs to cut back on the sugar. Maybe 1 cup of sugar instead of 1 1/3?? I think 6 T of sugar in the maringue is a lot. I put in 5 T sugar and still thought it was too sweet. I should have looked at the calorie count on this recipe and realized. At 428 calories a slice, this recipe is definately not worth it. Sorry.
