Scalloped Celery

It is really hard for me to believe how good this is! I don't usually like celery, but I made this because I had about a pound left over from another recipe that only used one stalk. I hate to throw food away, so I decided to try this one expecting it to be edible at best. Simply put, it it delicious!!! I never knew celery could taste so good. I made it exactly as directed except I used crushed buttery round crackers instead of soft bread crumbs and I cooked the celery a little longer than suggested (10 minutes) to make sure it was good and tender. I might be buying celery just to make this in the future!!!

Granny's Swiss Steak

This is really good!!! It's easier to make than I thought it would be too. I made it exactly as written except that I forgot to buy mushrooms for it, so I substituted carrots. Since I like mushrooms better than carrots I'm sure it's worthy of the five stars!!!

Homemade Pizza Supreme

This pizza tastes awesome. I did alter it a little: I used a frozen pepper and onion stir-fry mix instead of the fresh onion and peppers, and baked on a pizza stone at 450 degrees for 10 minutes and didn't pre-bake the crust. I also used dried chopped onions and a little bit of onion powder in the sauce instead of fresh grated onions, and I halved the recipe (I made both crusts and froze one). As far as I'm concerned it was perfect. The pizzas I've baked in the past didn't taste anything like real pizza (they were gross: ). This tasted as good or better than anything I've got from a restraunt or store. Thanks for the recipe!

Carrots Au Gratin

Very good casserole! The only change I think I will make if I make it again is to cook the carrots until they are a bit more tender. I know it's not as healthy, but I like them better that way : ).

Basic Pasta

This is so easy and delicious!!! Thanks a bunch for the recipe. I had never considered actually making pasta from scratch before I read this recipe, now I may never go back to store-bought! I followed the directions exactly except that I forgot to add the salt. I'll be sure to remember it next time, but it tastes great without it.

Iced Coffee

This is really good. I was surprised at the ice cream like consistency. I thouh however that the coffee taste could be a little stronger. I may double the coffee next time. Very good though.

Rich Green Bean Casserole

Wow...this is delicious!!! Perfect for a somewhat light main dish but still filling. I'm sure it would also make a great side. This is my first time making and only my second time eating green bean casserole, so I'm not familiar with the Thanksgin=ving traditions, but I may start my own:). It would be five strars, but it was way too salty. Next time I will either use 1/2 teaspoon or leave the extra salt out all together. Still delicious though. Definitely give it a try.

Taco Salad I

Very good recipe. I was surprised by how the french dressing blended with the taco seasoning. I'm not sure that this should be considered authentic Mexican food but good nonetheless. The only change I will make if I make it again will be to keep the meat mixture seperate from the chips/salad mixture and only mix one serving at a time. The chips and lettuce become really soggy when there are leftovers to be warmed up later (something I always have since I am usually cooking only for myself). Overall very good though.

Bacon and Macaroni Salad

Mmmmm mmmmm mmmmmm!!! This is very very good!! It did seem to me to require quite a bit of work, with cooking bacon and pasta, boiling eggs, and chopping vegetables. It was definitely worth all the effort though (that's coming from a man: we don't have a reputation for wanting to put a lot of effort into our meals). I may try it with tuna istead of bacon next time to make it easier, faster, and healthier. I know that will make it a completely different dish, but I think it will still be good. If you like maceroni salad definitely try this one.

Eggplant Parmesan II

Very good recipe! This is my first time trying eggplant and this seemed a pretty good/traditional way to try it out. Breading and baking all the eggplant slices seemed like a lot of work, although probaably worth it. Next time I may try just soaking it all in egg/milk mixture in a bowel and then shaking it all at once (or twice) in a ziplock bag with the breadcrumbs, and bake for ten minutes without turining. Taste was very good although some of the eggplant seems a little bitter. I think someone suggested peeling a little deeper or soaking in saltwater. May be a good suggestion.

These were good. I thought they could use more flavour though. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to brown the ground beef first or not, so I browned it first to be safe. Overall a good recipe.

Broccoli Corn Casserole

WOW!!! Awesome casserole and super easy to make. I made this just to have a quick vegetable side, and couldn't believe how good it turned out. I made it exactly to the recipe. I used a store brand cornbread stuffing mix for the top (and store brand everything else as well). It was exceptionally delicious. Thanks for the recipe.

Banana Blast II

Very good smoothie. At first I made it exactly to the recipe (except I halfed it), and it was very good. However now I've modified it to 2 tablespoons honey instead of 1 tablespoon brown sugar , and omitted the water and one ice cube. Now it's FABULOUS!!!

Easy Meatloaf

Excellent recipe. I made it for a family gathering and everyone loved it. Some said it was the best meatloaf they'd ever eaten!!! I used two pounds ground beef and added a couple grated carrots, but I'm sure it would've been fantastic made exactly to the recipe.
