I make wedding videos and teach piano. I love to cook and bake, and can't wait to do it in my own kitchen instead of my mom's. :)
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake cookies and invent new cookie recipes. I also love almost anything with rice in it and Mexican food! Whatever you make, I'll probably put hot sauce on it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We mostly have Christmas traditions involving decorating sugar cookies and cooking those little sausages in BBQ sauce. I make homemade Chex Mix and we have lots of foods that we only get at Christmas, but they are my favorites!
My cooking triumphs
I am the cookie queen. I also make a mean Mexican casserole or soup.
My cooking tragedies
Cheesecake and cake in general seem to escape me. I keep trying. I can make one according to a recipe, but I am not satisfied with my attempts at improvisation in this area. One cheesecake I made had to be thrown out after coming out of the oven about 1 inch thick. There's a dozen eggs wasted! :)

Thimble Cookies
These are delicious! The lemon juice adds such a great flavor, they almost taste like they have cream cheese in them. The texture, the flavor--all superb. They are pretty forgiving, too, about what size ball you roll before baking.

What a surprisingly good recipe! I bring cookies to work every Wednesday and this is one of the bigger hits I've had. I don't like coconut so I used cornflakes and that was really good. I used the walnuts because Dad ate all the peanuts, but next time I want to use peanuts. I also want to add some peanut butter for more flavor and beacuse the batter was a little crumbly and the cookie a little bit dry. I think it will add flavor and help hold the cookie together better. My parents and grandparents loved them. They were a bigger hit than I expected.

Chicken Alfredo Pizza
This was phenomenal! It was actually pretty easy to make. We rubbed the seasoning on the chicken and grilled on the George Foreman grill then cut it up. I added a little cheese to the pizza too. I don't like pizza unless its chicken alfredo, and I'm REALLY picky about my alfredo sauce. The garlic sauce was great too. Words cannot express how much this recipe rocks!
