J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Wonderful fluffy biscuits. Thses came out great for me (and sometimes I struggle in the biscuit making department). Based on other reviewers advice...I added a tsp. of cider vinegar to the milk to "sour" it (like butermilk). Also instead of rolling and cutting - I used a large ice cream scoop and dropped them onto the pan. Makes 8 big biscuits.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is simply the best ever choc chip cookie recipe. Everyone who tastes them does a double take and comments on how good they are. This recipe is perfect as is - no changes necessary.

Tasty Tuna Burgers

Mmm! These are better than you might imagine. Tasty and easy to prepare. I did a light coating of panko bread crumbs before frying as another reviewer suggested...adds a nice crunch. I have to say they are more like croquettes. For us, the texture is too soft for eating on a bun.

Famous Butter Chicken

I have made this several times and it is always tender and delicious. I cut boneles chicken breasts in half to have a bigger ratio of breading to chicken. Looks good and tastes good.

Six Threes Ice Cream

This was easy and it did have a different and unusual flavor. My family gave it mixed reviews,though. One son loved it and finished the whole batch practically single -handedly over a few days. Husband and other son had a small serving each and didn't want any more. Good if you like fruity flavors but dissapointing for those who like a more traditional taste ( chocolatey,nutty etc)

Triple Berry Crisp

This is a great alternative to a cobbler. I used fresh blackberries only and it was delicious. Mine came out not quite done enough in the middle so next time I will cook a little longer

BBQ Chicken Sandwiches

A perfect dish to serve at a large gathering. Tasty but not too spicy for kids. It is easy to keep warm in a crockpot or covered in the oven. Leftovers are as good the 2nd day. I would urge you to cook a whole chicken,rather than just breasts. The dark meat adds a lot of flavor and you can save the broth for soups,etc. This sems like a long time to cook a cut up chicken.Mine are usually done in less than an hour at a simmer.

Avocado Feta Salsa

A little too bland for our taste. We added diced jalepenos and that helped a little. But still, I wouldn't make this again. ...not appealing to the eye ....and not enough texture. I agree with another poster that you can't really taste the feta cheese.

Pill Bottle Cookies

These cookies are cute but just way too buttery for me. I kept mine refrigerated because of the raw egg yolk in the filling...so that may be why they seemed so greasy.

Old-Fashioned Chocolate Fudge

The nice thing about this recipe is the pure and simple ingredients. It tastes like home-made fudge should taste. I followed the recipe exactly except added chopped pecans when it was starting to loose it's sheen. It is a little difficult to prepare this fudge. Be patient. As other reviewers have mentioned...butter the saucepan before you start. Don't allow any unmelted sugar to get into the mixture once it starts cooking. Be sure it is to the right stage/temp before removeing it from heat and don't stop early on beating time.

Cranberry Orange Cookies

Perfect cookies for a holiday assortment - a nice counterpoint to all the chocolate goodies that are served. I couldn't imagine fresh cranberries in a cookie..I thought they would be too tart - but they aren't. I made the recipe as written except left out the orange zest. I ran short on glaze by "spreading" it on the cookies...maybe "drizzle" would be a better word. Anyhoo the ones without glaze were good too...they would make good tea cookies.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

My guests shamelessly mowed right through this dip....it's like they couldn't stay away from it. I made it early in the day and chilled it to let flavors blend. I used jalepenos from a jar and probably more than the recipe called for. I mixed about half of the parmesan in with the other ingredients and sprinkled the rest on top..along with some cornflake crumbs for a little crunch. (I intended to use the Panko crumbs like other reviewers mentioned but forgot to look for them at the store). I baked it in the oven and served it with Townhouse Bistro Cornbread crackers. Thank you to the poster of this recipe for sharing!

Crustless Spinach Quiche

Great results using the recipe exactly as is...except baked in mini muffin pans. I served the mini quiches along with traditional breakfast foods at a large family gathering. They added a nice bit of color to the buffet and my guests kept snacking on them after the meal. Actually I baked them the night before and they reheated nicely. This quiche would be good for the main dish at any meal or the mini ones could be used as an appetizer or party nibbler.

Award Winning Peaches and Cream Pie

I doubled the recipe and baked in a 13x9 glass dish. I left out the cinnamon and still...it seemed like too many flavors and not enough texture. The canned peaches weren't a good compliment to the soft crust and gooey topping. It was almost like a "dump cake" to me. The cream cheese layer was good.

Frosted Banana Bars

I have made these many times and they are quite good! Everyone is always suprised how good these really are...I think maybe they are expecting them to taste like ordinary dry banana bread...or maybe have an artificial banana taste. It's just the opposite....moist.rich and flavorful. I always use home made crean cheese icing. These are good for an easy desert or for make and take. I have used bananas that I had frozen (getting over ripe) it worked fine.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

This is a perfect muffin recipe. I have better luck if I just fill muffin cups about 3/4 full. I have also tried this with blackberries and it worked fine.

Absolute Mexican Cornbread

Especially good and also easy to make. Hearty and filling. Husband said "Ahhh,this is special cornbread!" and one son, who usually isn't interested in eating cornbread,took 2 pieces home with him. I used the whole can of green chilies.
