Groovy Green Smoothie

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2012
Tastes great. The skins of the grapes and apple add a texture that I didn't really like though, you almost have to chew it. Will probably make it again.

Mexican Bean and Rice Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2012
Nice flavors throughout. Can get a little dry with the brown rice. I recommend adding a little oil/vinegar/hot sauce to add some moisture and jazz it up a little bit more. Great healthy lunch idea.

Mediterranean Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2012
Fantastic recipe! It's not often that I try recipes on here that I don't have complaints about, but this is certainly one. Wonderful mediterranean flavors. The olive are really what made the recipe. Could still be made without them if you don't like olive but I couldn't go without them. If your grocery store has the olive bar definitely get some good greek olives from there to throw in.

Honey-Mustard Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2012
This could just be a personal taste thing, but the curry powder seems a bit out of place here and dominates what should be the star flavors, the honey and mustard. My opinion would be to just leave the curry powder out, particularly if you aren't using a good quality variety.

Carrot, Tomato, and Spinach Quinoa Pilaf

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2012
Good starting point/idea for a way to jazz up the healthy grain. Nice thing is you can change up this recipe in a thousand different ways to add the the flavors you are looking for.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2012
I have to admit, I don't often review recipes unless they blow me away...which this one did. I always used to think that it wasn't worth the effort to make cinnamon rolls from scratch instead of just going with the frozen ones. I now know this is wrong. Wonderful recipe which really isn't very difficult. I have halved the recipe and made the full recipe, either way making 6 rolls, the full recipe obviously making much bigger rolls. We like to put the frosting on after serving them so everyone gets as much as they want. These beat any cinnamon roll I've had.

Best of Everything Veggie Burgers

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2012
While the recipe has great flavor, there are some issues. First off, the recipe makes significantly more than 6 patties. I made 3 huge patties and had enough left for at least 9 more. So plan accordingly, you will likely need to reduce the recipe or freeze some of the mixture like I did. The other main problem is, like many other reviews have mentioned, that the patties don't bind very well. I would need to experiment to determine if more rice, bread crumbs or eggs would help these bind together easier. If makes somehwat of a patty rather than a burger. That all being said, we did like the flavor of the patties.

Mustard Greens 'n Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2013
Wasn't the biggest fan of mustard greens as they can be a bit "chewy". But I didn't want to let that affect my rating as it is a personal preference. This is a great option for a healthy side dish. We added some crumbled feta cheese on top. Went great with fish.

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2013
No major complaints but the soup was just a bit bland. Not one of those recipes that we wanted to save to make multiple times.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2013
Not going to be near as hard on this recipe as some others were. Recipe should be halved for 1 pound of strawberries. You can learn this by reading the reviews first, but a lot of people, like myself, don't always do that. The next day the chocolate forms a hard shell and falls apart, the shortening could be increased, or add more butter to help keep chocolate softer.

Tomato Pork Loin Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2013
Nice sauce to go with the Pork Chops. We wouldn't have minded a bit more of the sauce, so maybe that part could be doubled for about 6 pork chops.

Garlic Cheddar Chicken

Good chicken recipe. It's not really necessary to the put the cheese mixture on the bottom side of the chicken as it will just get oily/soggy.

Very good! Tough to screw this recipe up. It wasn't too spicy for our kids to eat. It went great with a creamy alfredo.

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2013
Fantastic recipe. I added a couple chipotles in adobo sauce, chopped up and blended in. It helps balance the rich, sweet flavors in the casserole. The heat is pretty tolerable, but make sure the people you're serving it to like a little spice.

The recipe was easy and it turned out great! Just like you get at coffee shops. I omitted the dried fruit because I don't like the texture, used pecan pieces instead.
