Sour Cream Cornbread

Family loved this cornbread. I am a calorie saver so I halved the sugar as I thought it would be too sweet and used fat free sour cream. I am glad I did. It was still sweet enough. Leftover cornbread froze well. Thanks for the great recipe.

Homemade Chickarina Soup

Italian Bowknot Cookies

Except for the butter and we add vanilla and rum extract. This is my dad's recipe. I have been making these for years and they are always a hit. Made these today for Christmas eve. Everyone loves them. Follow directions exactly!!!!

Apple Cake IV

The people I served it to liked this cake. I gave out the recipe 5 times but with my changes. I subbed applesauce for half the oil(to cut the fat content down), cut the sugar to 1 1/4 cups(2 cups is too much), the apples to 4 , and the cinnamon to 2 teaspoons. with these changes its a 5 star. I personally did not care for this cake.

Luscious Spinach Artichoke Dip

Made this as written and it was just ok. Tasted ok while still warm but lacked flavour. Brought this to a party and had over half left over. Not a good sign. Sorry will not make this again

German Apple Cake II

Baking this cake as I write this. Smells wonderful. I cut the sugar down tov 1 1/2 cup and the oil to 1/2 cup. I cup of oil is way too much for this recipe and 2 cups of sugar makes this oversweet. The apples will sweeten the cake enough. Also 4 cups of apples was a lot compared to the amount of batter. I am skipping the icing. I used a cinnamon and sugar mix and sprinkled that on top of the cake. I made this a Christmas party tomorrow. Hope its good

Sour Cream Cut-Outs

Made these yesterday and they turned our great but only when I cut down the flour to 4 cups and increased the sugar to 1 1/2 cups otherwise they would be dry and have no flavour. This saved this recipe. The flour to sugar ratio is completely wrong.

Mom's Cheesecake

made this for a neighborhood bbq. Turned out ok but I think 2 cups sour cream is too much. Not as dense as good cheesecake should be. Fell apart when slicing even though I served the day after I made it. Next time I would decrease the sour cream to 1 cup. Then it would be 5 stars.

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

I made this sauce as it was written and decided to cook it as it tasted raw to me. The honey was way too much and the sauce was too sweet I was tempted to throw it out but I tried to save it.I decided to add one more can of tomato paste , 1cup more water. Much more oregano, basil, garlic and onion powder and some black pepper. I cooked it on low for 15 min and it was very nice tasting. This made enough for 3 party size pizzas. Next time I would omit the honey and the parmeasan cheese. just adding maybe 1 tablesppon of sugar instead, salt to taste and my extra herbs and spices.

Best Bean Salad

mmmmmmmmmmmmm....so good.Like other reviewers ,I cut the sugar down to 1/2 cup. More than enough.I used olive oil as that is all I had. Some people who ate it thought I could have still used less sugar. Next time I will try less and use cut frozen green and waxed beans boiled for a few minutes as the canned beans turned to mush oce you stirred it all together. . So good. A definate keeper.

I made this recipe exactly as listed but omited the ox tails as I didn't think my Italian family would eat themGreat recipe full of flavour. I made this to go along with brascole and linguine pasta. Came out wonderful .The smell in my kitchen was like I died and went to heaven. Everyone licked their lips and fingers at dinner. Thanks for the great meal!!!!
