Broccoli Cheese Soup V

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2006
This is the first time I've made broccoli cheese soup, but I've always loved it at restaurants and when other people have made it. This recipe was SO easy! I accidentally bought Queso cheese instead of regular cheese, and it still turned out good. I added a few slices of American cheese and a cup of shredded cheddar cheese since I made that boo boo. I don't think white pepper is necessary if you don't have any on hand... I bought some since it called for it, but black pepper would work fine. I've never used white pepper, so I wasn't sure. I loved the soup, and I will definitely make it again. Next time I'll get the right cheese though. :o)

Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2006
These are really good! I can't compare them to those at RL since I've never eaten there, but I can say these are yummy and soooo easy to make. I used Pioneer Brand Buttermilk Biscuit Mix. I made one batch and used 1 cup of cheese, then I made another half batch to make sure I had enough for my family dinner tonight. The 2nd batch, I added some garlic and onion powder to the mix, and it was good like that too. If you like a stonger garlic taste, I'd recommend doing it that way. I will definitely be making these often. Thanks for the recipe! Oh and I didn't have parchment paper, so I just simply sprayed my cookie sheet with nonstick spray, and it worked fine.

Simple Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2006
This was not the best mac and cheese I've had, but it was okay. I added way more cheese, salt and pepper, and a pinch of dry mustard. It was just okay for me. My husband said he liked it. I probably won't make it again.

Grilled Garlic Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2006
I thought this was really good! I made mine with mini red potatoes, and I used a little bit garilc powder instead of fresh. I also didn't use parsley since I didn't have any, but I was going to use dry parsley and I forgot. I may add that next time to see if it's better. They turned out great anyway. In my opinion, they don't even need cheese. But my husband loves cheese so I added it anyway. We also used sour cream. Very yummy

Chicken Noodle Casserole I

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2006
After I started making this, I realized I did not have any sour cream, so I just added about 1/2 cup of milk to the soup mixture instead because that's all I had. I thought it turned out good anyway. I will make it again with sour cream and see if there is a difference, but this is a really yummy recipe! Thanks!

Fluffy French Toast

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2006
This french toast is really good! I tried one other recipe before this (French Toast I), and I liked this one much better. I have already made this twice. I reduced the recipe to make only 4 slices since it was just for me & used regular white bread, and it was great! Thanks so much!

French Toast I

This was pretty good. I didn't have any nutmeg, and I used regular white bread but it turned out fine. I want to try it with nutmeg and thick bread next time.

No Bake Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2005
Yum! This was so good! I usually use regular sugar in my peanut butter pies, but the powdered sugar made it so much smoother. I used creamy peanut butter instead of crunchy and a chocolate pie crust instead of graham cracker, and it turned out fabulous. Very EASY and not too rich. A+

Walter's Chicken and Mac

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2005
I thought this was very good. I gave it 4 stars bc I agree that it was a bit dry, but I will definitely make it again and maybe add more milk or soup. It was tasty and filling. If you like macaroni and cheese, you should enjoy this recipe.

Vegetable Feta Rice

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2005
I did not care for this at all. I ended up throwing the whole thing away. I definitely would not recommend this, BUT if you are thinking about trying it, I would offer these tips: sautee the onions and celery and make sure you don't cook the rice too long.

Juicy Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2005
I only have one complaint. I marinated my pork chops for about 18 hours and they turned out very salty. I liked the flavor but next time I will use low sodium soy salt or maybe just not marinate them too long. Could've been my fault... I also made them on the grill. I will make this again.

Super Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2005
Good, simple recipe for sausage gravy. I followed the recipe as written, except I took out about 1/4 cup of the sausage. Next time, I might take out more or make more gravy. I like more gravy/less sausage. I let the gravy sit for a few minutes while the biscuits finished, and it got really thick, so I added some water to thin it out. It still tasted great. I will make this again.

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2005
Excellent recipe! This is so easy to make. I used one can of cream of chicken soup and one can of cream of celery soup, and I added a pack of Ramen Noodle chicken flavored seasoning to the water when I boiled the chicken. (I didn't have any boullion cubes.) I used Grands Biscuits and I agree that the definitely need to be cooked longer than 8 minutes. As suggested by other users, I tore the biscuits into 6 pieces each and cooked them for 8 minutes uncovered and then 8-10 minutes covered. I thought they turned out great. I will definitely be using this recipe again. I love it! How could you NOT call this Chicken and Dumplings????

Grilled Fish Steaks

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2005
Great fish! I don't even usually like fish, but this was really good! It's the first time I've made fish and actually liked it. I made some minor adjustments - I used parsley flakes instead of fresh and I forgot the lemon juice, so I put a splash of lemonade in it - may sound strange, but that's all I had available! It turned out great. I will definitely be making this recipe again.

Iced Coffee

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2005
Oh my, this is soooo good! I'm drinking it right now! It's like a Capuccino Blast (from Baskin Robins) without the ice cream! I am so HAPPY I found this recipe. I wouldn't change a thing. You could add the whip cream and cinnamon or chocolate sprinkles to the top, but I don't think it needs anything. Thank you so much for this recipe. I will be making this over and over and over.... Thank you Janice!

Linda's Lasagna

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2005
This was my first attempt at making lasagna, and it turned out great! The sauce is so good. I followed the recipe exactly as it's written, except I used Barilla no boil noodles, and I used ground sirloin. This recipe is really great. I love cheese, so next time I might add some extra mozzarella and use a little more of the cottage cheese mixture. This was really easy and fun to make... a little time consuming, but worth the wait!

Stuffed Fish in Puff Pastry

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2004
Pretty good recipe - It wasn't as hard to make as it sounds but I didn't try to make it look fancy since it was just for my husnand and me. And I cut the recipe in half. The fish could use some flavor but the stuffing is really good. I used white cooking wine instead of the dry vermouth because my grocer did not carry it and I also used dry parsley instead of fresh.
