No-Fuss Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2012
/I thought this recipe was very good and my husband loved it! I added some chopped green peppers and onions to the meat and also added some brown sugar to the ketchup. It was a very easy and tasty meatloaf. I will definitely be making this again!

Banana Bread - Quick Bread for Machines

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2010
This was pretty good and super easy. I added about a teaspoon of vanilla, and I would have added walnuts, but I didn't have any. It was very moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. Good base recipe.

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
WOW! My husband said this was the best chicken he's ever eaten. It was really good! I didn't have any rosemary, so I used dried Basil instead, and I marinated it for probably 2-3 hours. It turned out awesome! I will be making this again and again. Next time I might marinate some mushrooms in this marinade and make some kabobs with peppers and onions! YUM!

Grilled Rib Eye Steaks

Reviewed: May 30, 2008
This is really good! I made 1/2 the recipe and marinated two ribeyes in a ziplock bag for about 3 hours, and they were delicious. I used low sodium soy sauce and garlic salt instead of garlic cloves (forgot to buy garlic). My boyfriend and I loved the flavor. I always use A1 on my steaks, but the flavor was sooo good I didn't even use it this time! I will definitely be making this again!!

Crab Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2007
This was really good. Only changes I made was I added a little extra mayo, used 1 teaspoon celery salt instead of celery seed (that's what I had on hand) and some chopped green onions. I made it today for Father's Day, and I think it will be a hit. ***Here's an idea. After making the salad, stuff it inside of cooked jumbo pasta shells for a great appetizer. It makes a great presentation and people love it! I had this once at a work potluck and it got rave reviews. Thanks for the recipe - it's great!

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: May 7, 2007
Oooohhhhhhh these are so good. The only change I made was I used butter flavored shortening instead of butter. They turned out so good... big and chunky! They're the best cookies I've made. Hands down.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: May 2, 2007
I just made this Tilapia for dinner, and it was awesome! I am very picky about fish, and I usually don't like any recipe I try, but this one was really good! I only made half the recipe for my husband and myself, and he was disappointed that he couldn't have seconds :) I will definitely make this again. Thanks for the recipe!

Simple Country Ribs

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2007
Ok, so I have made country ribs many times before, and I've always seasoned them with salt and pepper & boiled them in plain water before grilling them with bbq sauce... and I thought they were pretty good. Well, let me tell you. I will never make them that way again! I am so glad I tried this because the ribs had so much more bbq flavor and they were so tender and moist. They came out dry sometimes when I did them my old way. I only made about 1 lb. since it's just me and my hubby, and they were awesome! Thanks for the recipe!! It's definitely a keeper!

Pesto Chicken Florentine

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2007
I thought this was really great! I used Classico basil pesto. Next time I will use half the pesto. I picked up Knorr alfredo mix, which was only 1.6 oz. Next time, I think I will try a jar of roasted garlic alfredo sauce. I also used a whole 9 oz. bag of spinach, and I honestly can't see how 2 cups could be enough. The amount I used shrunk down so much, it was perfect. Good recipe!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2007
I have just started making cookies, and this is my second recipe. I made Peanut butter ones first, then these. I thought they were awesome! I halved the recipe since it's just me and my hubby, and I used Butter flavored crisco instead of butter. I ended up with 16 cookies. I don't know why some people think they aren't sweet enough - I thought they were perfect. I ate one before they were completely cooled, and wow, they were yummy. My husband thinks I'm Betty Crocker or something... he has no idea how easy they were to make! I can't wait to try another one.

Honey Baked Chicken II

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2007
My husband and I enjoyed this recipe. It was very easy, and the chicken turned out golden and moist. Instead of using a whole chicken, I halved the recipe and used 4 chicken thighs. I also added minced garlic and black pepper. I think next time I will skip the curry powder and see how that tastes. The flavor was good, but I'd like to see how it tastes without the curry. Thanks for the recipe!

Slow Cooker Kielbasa and Beer

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2007
I thought this was just ok. I prefer to have my kielbasa fried or grilled instead of cooked like this. And I'm not sure what the beer did for it. I'm glad I tried this, but I probably won't make it again.

Peking Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2007
I thought this was ok. I think the soy sauce was a bit too overpowering... and I used low sodium too. I served mine with Jasmine rice and stir-fry veggies. It tasted similar to another recipe I've tried called "Juicy pork chops" from this site, excepte those chops are marinated and broiled instead of slow cooked. I probably won't make it again, but I'm glad I tried it.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2007
After all the wonderful reviews, I had to try this... well, I was not happy with the way my roast turned out. I used a tender chuck roast and cooked it for about 5 hours on low. It turned out tough, and I did not enjoy the gravy. My husband said he liked it, but I think he was just being nice. I will try a different recipe next time with just beef broth and some seasonings instead of gravy. This was just not for me.

Chili Dogs

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2006
At first, I was not sure I was going to like this at all. but with a little help, I made it more to my liking. When it was initially "finished," I did not like the consistency of the sauce (bc of the cornstarch), so I added about 1/2 cup more water, a few squirts of mustard and probably 1/3 cup of ketchup. I also added more chili powder and simmered the sauce for about 30 minutes. The meat had no flavor after only 10 minutes. I am from WV and this is not what I am used to, but I made it work. I also added cole slaw and onions to my hot dogs.

Easy Chili I

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2006
Oh my gosh this chili burned my mouth up. I think it was my fault though... I put a small can of diced jalapeno's in it, and it was more than 2 Tablespoons. Oops, I read the recipe wrong and I thought it said 1/2 cup jalapenos. It also was a bit too thick for my taste. Next time, I will omit the jalapenos completely and add another can of tomato sauce.

Sweet Corn Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2006
Yummy, this was really good! I increased the sugar to 1/2 cup, and it tasted just right. A friend of mine asked for the recipe, and my husband loved it too. I only had 1/2 cup of all purpose flour so I used 1/2 cup whole wheat flour and it turned out a bit crumbly but I think it's becuase of the whole wheat flour. The sour cream did great to keep it moist. I will make it again when I get more regular flour ;o) Very good recipe!!

Broccoli Cheese Soup V

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2006
This is the first time I've made broccoli cheese soup, but I've always loved it at restaurants and when other people have made it. This recipe was SO easy! I accidentally bought Queso cheese instead of regular cheese, and it still turned out good. I added a few slices of American cheese and a cup of shredded cheddar cheese since I made that boo boo. I don't think white pepper is necessary if you don't have any on hand... I bought some since it called for it, but black pepper would work fine. I've never used white pepper, so I wasn't sure. I loved the soup, and I will definitely make it again. Next time I'll get the right cheese though. :o)
