Slow Cooker Cilantro Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2012
I've been on a crock pot kick this week, and this is the best dish I've made in my slow cooker yet! My family was raving about this one. I'm a cilantro fan, so I added a full cup of the fresh herb. I wasn't sure what salsa to use, so I did 8oz. of Pace coupled with 8oz. of a Fresh Serrano Salsa I purchased at Trader Joes. Truthfully, I think you are safe using a canned Salsa like Pace because the Taco Seasoning becomes the dominant flavor in the salsa. I would not use dry cilantro, however...for me, the fresh cilantro made this dish!! Fantastic recipe that I'll be making over and over again. Super Easy to make, but your friends will think you are a Culinary Genius!!!

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2012
This Alfredo sauce came out fantastic. I didn't have Romano so I just doubled the amount of Parmesean and added a little fresh Parsley. Awesome.

Slow Cooker Chicken Alfredo

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2012
This was a big hit with my family. The simplicity of the dish vs. how much taste you get out of it is awesome. The one thing that I did, and recommend is following one of the simple recipes on here to make your own Alfredo Sauce. The Allrecipes recipe "Alfredo Sauce" is the one that I followed and it was marvelous. Certainly worth the extra 5 minutes as opposed to buying one of the tasteless store bought brands.

Carolina Style Low Carb Barbecue Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2012
I've been following a low carb diet for a decade and I can't believe I'm only finding this recipe now! I'm accustomed to the KC style sauces, but this is going in my cooking arsenal. I'm trying it now in the Zesty BBQ slow cooker recipe I found on here now and my house smells amazing. Simple to make, super low in carbs!!!

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2012
This was a great way to impress my friends during the SAINTS game...I even had a few, true Cajuns say it tasted pretty authentic. I used Rotel tomatoes with the chilis in it, and let me tell you, if you like your Jambalaya hot, that is the way to do it. Certainly not a dish for the faint of palate. It's hot y'all!

French Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2012
I was trying to make the "Special Hamburger Sauce" recipe on this site, but didn't have any French Dressing. I whipped up this recipe and applied it to the other recipe...it was the key ingredient in making my other recipe a great success!!!

If you want a versatile, simple to make dish that will have people asking you for the recipe all night long, than you can't go wrong with this bad boy. It's certainly got some kick...which I like! Perfect for Super Bowl Parties, Pot Lucks, etc.

Blender Hollandaise Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2012
I love this Hollandaise sauce...genius move putting it in a blender or cuisinart to get a really nice texture and consistency. Personally, I chose to leave out the dijon. My secret ingredient is adding a dab of Franks Red Hot in lieu of Tabasco. It gives it a more subtle bite than the tabasco in my opinion. Otherwise, I follow the recipe and directions to the T.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2012
I was pretty pleased with this dish. I love the concept of adding the Italian dressing to the BBQ sauce, it gave it a great zing...my only regret is that I used a Carolina Style Sauce (Mustard Based) in the cooker, if I were to make it over again (and I will) I will use a Memphis Style sauce, which will probably change my opinion of this crock pot recipe to 5 stars.

4 for Ease. 3.5 for taste. I think the sauce left something to be desired.

Italian Dressing Mix

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2012
I'd give it 3.5 stars. I found the Oregano to be overpowering for my tastebuds. I'd make this again in a pinch. I'd say it's better used as a dry mix added to a slow cooker dish, as opposed to bottling it for salad.
