About this Cook
I'm from Europe and had the chance to live in the US for a while when I was younger. Discovered your family food and fell in love with it. Allrecipes is always the first website I search when I want to try something different.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook desserts, stews and vegetables. Huge cookie and cheesecake fan. And chocolate of course.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I learned how to cook by myself... however being from Belgium, I did learn how to make waffles with my mother, just like fries (no, you don't just cut a potatoe and fry it ;) we do have a few secret tips here).
My cooking triumphs
Buttercream layer cakes; chocolate cakes; cheesecake with Speculoos (a Belgian cookie made with cinnamon); Bourguignon Beef;
My cooking tragedies
Cookies. I make good cookies, but I just can't find a single recipe that would work and make them chewy. I've heard it's because of the flour we use here, it might be a bit different from the one used in US.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies
I hesitated between 4 and 5 stars... it's not exactly the recipe I was looking for, but since I made a few changes, it seemed only fair to give it a 5 stars. Mine turned out a bit cakey, and since I like my brownies very chocolatey and not to sweet, I cut the sugar to two cups. But instead of using dark chocolate chips, I used white chocolate (which is sweeter). Apart from that this recipe is very easy, and I'll give it another try and I will follow it to a T next time ;)

Fluffy Pancakes
I'm eating them right now... they are really good, but I think they're a bit too "salty", but it's easy to fix that with more syrup. They are really fluffy, I won't hesitate to make them again, but I'll cut on the salt next time :)

Classic Hash Browns
I never had hash browns before (it's not common in my country) but I really wanted to give it a try. This recipe seemed simple, and really is. It's very nice, very classic, and I think I'll just add my personal touch next time, but other than that, it's a great simple recipe. You can add whatever you want (I think I'll try onions next time, according to some reviews I read) Thanks for sharing.
