Pumpkin Dessert

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2005
Too easy. Guests loved it. I sprinkled brown sugar on pumpkin before adding cake mix. I served with whip cream; next time I'd serve with ice cream.

Pumpkin Cookies I

This cookie was ok - nothing too special. Super easy to make, though, if you're short on time and lookin' for something different.

Garlic and Rosemary Shrimp

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2005
This was one of the best recipes I have taken off this site! We left out all of the red pepper ingredients, and it turned out terrific with a couple quick dashes of Old Bay seasoning. Served it over bow tie pasta. It really did make a delicious dish with little to no effort at all (I did leave the tails on). I'll definitely make this again!

Quick Lemon Poppy Seed Bread

Feel a bit guilty for using a box, but after people swooned over it, who the heck cares? People loved it.

Baked Ziti IV

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2005
I didn't rate this right away, although it went over very well when we had guests over. My husband admitted to me the other day, though, that he had been "thinking about it" and would like to eat it again. I decided that called for a rating, then. Served it with a Ceasar salad. Loved it. In a pinch one kind of meat would work just fine.

Kalua Pig in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2005
My husband thought this was the best dish I had ever made him. I was absolutely giddy about it myself. I used a 3.5 lb shoulder roast and regular salt - put it in at 8 am, flipped it once, done at 6:30. No fat. Superb. Can't screw it up.

Peach Cobbler Dump Cake I

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2004
Terrific recipe. Brown sugar on top worked out great. Didn't drain anything, cooked it 5 minutes longer, though. Baking it made the whole living area like heaven.

Incredible Punch

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2004
Terrific punch, easy to make. I highly recommend using the Schwepps Raspeberry Gingerale because it makes it so beautiful! I had no problems with thawing or freezing. There is a mellow pina colada taste to it, but my guests loved it, especially the "slushy" part...only drawback: extras do not keep well at all.

Best Bruschetta Ever

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2004
At first I think it intimidated guests at my Valentines Day party, but once they tried it, they loved it. I even sent the recipe home with some. Since tomatoes are really out of season for MN in February, I bought seasoned canned tomatoes and used the other recommendations and added onion and balsmic vinegar. It turned out really good!

Apple Dip

Pretty basic, but overall a tasty recipe when you need something cheap and easy. Check out the Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Ball recipe on here, too -- but just leave out the chocolate chips if you want. Twice as good as this.

Tortilla and Bean Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2004
TERRIFIC RECIPE! I was scrunched on time, so I cut the time down to 30 minutes by adding a can of chicken instead of boiling and cutting the chicken. It tastes fabulous, is cheap to make, and it looks great! I can't wait to make it for company!

Low Fat Apple Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2004
This recipe is great to have on hand because it's healthy -- I'm a former muffin/bagel addict, but when I started cutting calories I had to give my many of my breakfast favorites up. They're not pretty for guests or anything, but they're a great source of fiber, taste pretty darn good and store well/moist in a ziplock for over a week. I put raisins and cinnamon in mine, too, to give it a little more flavor.

Ultimate Maple Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2003
I couldn't believe how chewy they were. They're not the most glamourous, but they're easy and good. I didn't use maple sugar. No problem.

Creamy Lemon Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2003
This cake was very, very easy and tasted good. I made it for an open house party -- it was a much bigger hit with the older folks. I also was pretty conservative with my hole punching, next time I'll put holes all over the thing.

Incredibly Delicious Italian Cream Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2003
I made this cake for an engagement party for my fiance and I -- everyone loved it! It wasn't hard to make at all, although it took a little time. We had no problem transporting it -- I stuck it in the fridge for 24 hours and it helped it to "firm up" and tasted great. I, too, doubled the frosting, so thanks for the advice! I also left the coconut out of the batter since some aren't so wild about coconut. Great recipe!
