About this Cook
I am still a working woman that is looking forward to retirement. I have only one child left at home that graduates High School this May. My other 2 Children are Renee, a RN, and Brad, a Certified Auto Mechanic. My husband is Retired from the USAF and now is working in the same field as a Civil Servant. I love my family and enjoy boating and fishing. I am ready to settle down on the Gulf of Mexico in our final home.
My favorite things to cook
Baking is always fun, especially during the holidays. We grill alot so new techniques for grilling for everyday is always on my hunting list. I like to try authenic recipes from other lands. My husband, being prior military, always has memories of places that he has been to, and tells me stories of the delicious foods he has tried while TDY there, so, I try to duplicate his food memories whenever possible.
My favorite family cooking traditions
In general, a traditional Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas dinner are always there with a spin on the side dishes. I will hunt for yams recipies and veggie recipies to change up the tradition, yet keep the traditional foods on the table.
My cooking triumphs
A New York Style Cheesecake I got raves from my family on. I think I might venture out to work with that one.
My cooking tragedies
There are way too many tom list..just ask my family... They always say something like "Everyone look out, Mom is in the kitchen trying to kill us with something wierd again!

Kofta Kebabs
We had Greek night at our house, with my husbands assistance, we turned out quite the meal. We did make these Kofta Kebobs and were very impressed with the outcome...Although, personally, I would cut back on the cinnamon a little, I felt it was very overwhelming. All of the spices really changed the way the meat tasted..By the way, we changed up the lamb for 1/2 lb of ground beef that was 94% lean and 1/2 lb. of ground pork. We were very pleased with kebobs and will make them again using our original method, but lessen the cinnamon.
