I am a mother of four grown children and have cooked for a lot of years now. Even though I categorized myself as an "expert", it's only because of the longevity of my cooking career. My cooking is simple, but no one seems to mind. It is fun to bake and share the goodies with friends and family. We have a garden every year, and I can our produce when there is enough to can. This year I canned only one batch of tomatoes, and many green beans. We have a strawberry patch so I make freezer jam as well. We had good return on our onions and potatoes, to be used as is. No freezing or canning necessary. All in all, fresh is best and we like to share the bounty of our garden. Also, I like to cook with a crockpot, it's so nice to come home to a house filled with good smells. A bread machine is a great way to have fresh bread waiting for you as well. This website gives me lots of good ideas and new ideas. I'm starting to get tired of the same ol' stuff.
My favorite things to cook
Meatloaf, lasagna, barbequed country ribs in the crockpot, spaghetti, pizza, oven steak, BLT's, potato salad, like I said, simple stuff.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Traditional Thanksgiving with turkey and all the trimmings.
My cooking triumphs
If it's not burnt or tough, I consider it a triumph :-)
My cooking tragedies
Too many to list...
