It is a pretty good base recipe. As it stands, without modifications, it is a little bland with too many dumplings. I found one package of biscuits was more than enough to feed my family of four with extra servings for everyone and left overs to boot. I did add some water mixed with a couple of tablespoons of flour into it when I added the biscuits, because it looked a bit runny. And I had to cook the dough longer than 30 minutes to cook all the way through. I suggest making the dough balls small, as they expand quite a bit in the mixture. It really needs some other flavoring though. Our taste lead me to add: salt, fresh cracked pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paparika. I also like to make complete meals, so I added a couple of carrots, diced, and a cup or so of frozen corn. Like I said, it is a good base recipe.
