Skillet Pork Chops with Potatoes and Onion

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2014
I've made this recipe a few times and for some reason I always struggled with getting it right. The meat would be too dry or the potatoes undercooked. I found the secret ingredient! Or rather tool: cast iron skillet!!!! OMG this was absolutely fabulous when I used my cast iron skillet. The meat was so tender, the potatoes were perfect! Great recipe!! I'm so happy I finally figured out how to do justice to this recipe. I don't use onions since my husband abhors them but other than that, I follow the recipe to a T. Now just in a cast iron skillet!

Brazilian Black Bean Stew

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2014
Holy cow I think this is my new favorite soup! Great blend of flavors. I make a few modifications only because of what I have (or rather, don't have). I generally don't have ham so I just omit and double the sausage. I also generally don't have a green chilly pepper so I just substitute 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper. I know it's probably not quite the same flavor but it seems to work. I use frozen mangoes also.

Delicious Stroganoff

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2013
This was really good and easy to make. I made a few alterations based on what I had on-hand. I only used half of the taco seasoning since I was essentially out and used 1 can condensed beef consume with the remainder of 2 cups made up of water instead of beef broth. I omitted the milk since I wanted the sauce to stay nice and thick. Very flavorful. Even my kids liked it!

Pork Chop Soup

Reviewed: May 6, 2013
Great recipe! I've been looking for a way to use pork chops in a soup and this is fabulous! I cut the actual spices (paprika & chili powder) in half since hubby isn't a fan of spice, but other than that, I follow the recipe pretty exactly. I also pan fry the pork chops to cut the cooking time in half. One day when I have more time I'll actually try the boiling for 1 hour method of cooking!

Herbed Sweet 'n' Sour Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2012
I made this exactly as the recipe called for and thought it was amazing (I didn't have any pineapple juice)! A good balance of sweet and spicy. I had big pieces of chicken so cooked them for 50 minutes, but flipped and basted them every 10 minutes or so.
