Sunday Best Fruit Salad

Reviewed: May 11, 2008
Tripled the recipe for a mother's day/dual baby shower(two cousins having girls) .....I was scared of the peach pie filling, but it was awesome. I used red and green apples, grapes (red and green), strawberries, blueberries, pineapple - everyone loved it. (Peach Pie filling? who would have guessed....) For the amount of people we had to feed...I was sure the banana would go bad...so it was eliminated.

Very good! Next time I will follow the suggestions of other reviewers. I did use ground beef because it was the only thing I had on hand and I did not use wine. YUM!

I have not made this in years....Just what I was looking for! Easy and good, maybe not "good for you". Served it with egg noodles and fresh cracked pepper. Used fresh mushrooms that I sauted with the onion. mmm mmm good. Tomorrow - gym.

Pan-Fried Steak with Marsala Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2008
Very good, I did not have Marsala on hand so I used 1 cup broth. I also used a couple of thick bacon wrapped steaks (the ones from Costco) I had to cook the meat longer because of the thickness. The butter is the key! Thanks!

Chicken Florentine Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2007
This was very good. Next time I'll use less Italian seasoning for sure - it was a bit too much. I used fresh baby spinach (sauted first) and home made cream of mush. soup (yuck to the canned stuff) and did NOT cook the chicken prior. It's a keeper.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2007
Just had some of the leftovers for lunch! The BEST! I did make modifications - because of a lower carb dieter in my family I omitted the beans, 8 oz. tomato sauce, corn and beer. Added 1/2 knorr chicken bullion, 1 cup water, diced green chili and 14.5 oz diced tomatoes. Made Bills Taco seasoning exactly (FANTASTIC). Topped it with cheese, sour cream, fresh cilantro and green onions. Used the meat the next day for a killer taco salad! Thanks!

Parmesan Chicken II

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2007
No need to use bread crumbs ANY more! This was fantastic. Modification = added garlic and onion powder to the cheese and a dash of Italian spices. Used 11 chicken breasts - two cups is a LOT of cheese for this. Sprinkled the remaining on top of each breast and then added a dollop of butter. Baked for 40 mins. YUM.....perfect for a low carb dinner. --

Sour Cream Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2007
Very Good - My modifications = boneless pork chops, spiced the flour a bit with garlic salt and onion powder, added garlic and bay leaf to the pot. Then thickened the sour cream with corn starch not flour. Served over rice... I would have added a bit of paprika too (but I was out) Very similar to Pleasant Pork Chops from this site- which is a FAVORITE but the pork chop was WAY more tender...and this recipe is must less prep...Yum Yum

American Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2007
Yum - perfect for a fall/winter meal. I doubled and used 1 can cream of mushroom and 1 can of cream of celery. Also added a small bag of petite mixed veggies. I went to reach for my Worcestershire, and I FORGOT I was all out. Would have added the perfect kick as some other reviews have mentioned. Will add it next time.

Cabbage Roll Casserole

I can’t believe I have been making stuffed cabbage rolls for years and never thought of this, so much easier!! It is exactly the same except all mixed together. YUM My modifications – sautéed the onion with the meat, garlic salt, onion powder, pinch Italian spices and Worcestershire sauce. ½ to 6 servings for my needs.

Not what I expected....needs modification. I just made the chicken so maybe that's what was wrong. Smells really good but the flavor is not there. I would try this again...but with fresh masala and ginger.....
