About this Cook
Other than cooking, I love to garden and spend time at the beach.
My favorite things to cook
Pastas and Chicken dishes are my favorite things to cook for dinner but I love the challenge of creating decadent desserts!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Being from a big Italian family I always enjoy the traditional Sunday supper.......Pasta with gravy (spaghetti sauce), big spicy meatballs, sausage or braciole, crusty bread and tossed salad followed by espresso and fruit.
My cooking triumphs
If I do say so myself, my Christmas Brunches are taking on a legendary quality. I believe it will become a "remember when" for my children and theirs.
My cooking tragedies
I didn't really know how to cook when I got married. My new husband had two preteens who had only known his mother's fine cooking. Every night something was burnt or undercooked. I wanted to scream when they had the audacity to complain because I was doing my best. (They love my cooking now and are always turning up at my house at dinnertime with their husbands and kids!)

Chicken a la King I
Very good recipe. I haven't made chicken ala king in years and was looking for a refresher course. I used a 10oz bag of frozen peas and mushrooms (in place of the red pepper) and 1 can of mushroom stems and pieces. I cut the butter down to 6T (not much, I know, but 1/2 c just seemed like too much). I stirred 1 pod of condensed chicken stock into the hot water instead of bullion. I served over pastry puffs. de-LISH!

Orange Ginger Shrimp Stir-Fry
I just happened to have some fresh ginger and garlic and shrimp was on sale so I thought I'd try this fresh seasoned stir-fry instead of using a pre-fab sauce. I always mix Udon noodles into my stir fry and was worried that it wouldn't be saucy enough but surprise, it blended in perfectly. I used broccoli, carrots and snow peas for my veggies. I'll make this again. Thanks for the great recipe!

Kids Favorite Meatloaf
I found this recipe in a cookbook from the back of bottles, jars, and cans. I've been making it for years and everyone raves about it. I've always molded it in a regular loaf, though. Too bad I didn't think of the kiddie loaves when my adult children were small.
