Caesar Salad Supreme

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2007
Cannot say enough about this dressing. It's the absolute best. The only thing I do different is to omit the anchovies out of personal preference. We also use store bought fat free croutons, just to cut some time and omit some fat. We always keep this made up in the fridge, lasts quite a few days. The family also uses the dressing as a dip for preztels, makes an awesome dip too!!!! No need to ever purchase ceasar dressing again. Have also had rave reviews when I bring this dressing and a salad to holiday dinners.

Luscious Slush Punch

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2007
Very good, and easy to make. Love it when things can be done in advance. The kids couldn't get enough of it. Froze in 2 plastic gallon bags like others suggested. What a breeze. Thanks for a great recipe.

Mahogany Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2007
Did not like this at all. Had a funny taste to it. I did follow the recipe exactly. Out of 6 people in my family, only 2 ate these. My husband who eats anything, and 1 of my children. Will not make this again.

Cheesy Potato and Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2007
This chowder is the best. The gravy mix really does add alot. My kids all like this alot, and it's my hubby's favorite. He can never stop at just one bowl. I do add turkey bacon(out of habit). Sometimes we do jalapenos instead of the chilis, just depends what is on hand. I always tinker with recipes, but th original recipe is worthy of 5 stars. Thanks so much!!

Orange Cranberry Drops

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2005
These cookies were wonderful. My kids love them. I agree with previous reviews, that they aren't the prettiest cookie. But they taste and texture more than make up for it. It could use a garnish like what is in the picture, however, I think a glaze on the top would make it too sweet. Will definately make these again.

Mom's Ginger Snaps

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2005
This recipe is the best. I doubled all the spices, added a few shakes of cayenne powder(sounds strange, but I think it enhances the ginger flavor). Also , baked them for about 9 minutes. My family can't get enough of them. If I could give this more stars, I would.

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2005
Can't say enough about this recipe!! Everyone I know that has tried them, has loved them. I don't think the eggs missing are a problem at all.I replaced half the oil with applesauce, and half the sugar with splenda. Added a handful of peanut butter chips. Does not need the frosting at all. Have handed out this recipe 8 times since using it 3 weeks ago. Thanks so much for the recipe!!!

Chicken Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken)

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2005
This is a keeper!! My husband and I and 2 out of my 4 children loved it. (There's no pleasing everyone all the time at this house)Made a few substitions just because of lack of ingriedients. Used fresh ginger and garlic put through my garlic press, couldn't find the paste at my store. Also used vanilla yogurt instead of plain. Added 1 tsp of sugar. Used fat free half and half. I cooked my sauce slightly longer than 10 minutes and didn't need to thicken it. Thanks for sharing this one!! Next time I will double the whole recipe!!

Harvest Rice Dish

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2005
This was a great change from the wild rice dish I usually make. All my children loved it. My husband who is not so fond of cranberries loved them in this dish. Very surprised with the amount of onions in this dish that it didnot overpower it. Was just the right amount. Will be making this again and again.

Spanish Rice II

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2004
Very good recipe. I did substitute olive oil for the vegetable oil and brown rice for the white rice. Skipped the green pepper, added freash garlic, cumin, and a couple teaspoons of cumin. Also, had to cook longer because of the brown rice. Will definately make again!!

Mexican Corn

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2004
So simple, but yet so good. I did cut down on the jalapenos, just because my children were eating it. and I used jarred jalapenos instead of fresh. My husband said, we're keeping this recipe forsure, and he usually isn't a huge fan of corn.

Mexican Baked Fish

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2004
My family and I did not like this at all. We are huge fish eaters, and we all felt it didn't even taste like fish, which is maybe the idea. I didn't use cod, I used walleye and pan fish. My children wouldn't eat more than 1 bite and they all love mexican food. I guess if you're trying to mask the taste of fish, this would be a good recipe.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2003
This was absoulutely the very best apple pie recipe I've ever used. The whole family agreed!! I did add cinnamon to the syrup before pouring it over the apples(can't imagine apple pie without cinnamon)!! Will use this recipe again and again!!! I also loosely covered the entire pie with foil halfway through, I think the sugar over parts of the crust caused it too brown quicker than usual. Turned out perfect!!!

Watermelon Fire and Ice Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2003
My family all loves salsa, and they loved this recipe. I did drain the watermelon well after chopping, and because we are big garlic eaters, I substituted the garlic salt for fresh garlic. Very, very good!!!
