Best Spanish Rice

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2012
this was so good, it's hard to believe it. i put a cup of salsa in the blender to make it smooth (the kids don't like chunks in their rice). fan-flippin-tastic.

Slow Cooker Roast Beef

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2012
used homemade "dried onion soup mix" (google it) cuz all the ones i saw in the store had MSG. used just 1 tbs soy sauce (you can add more at the end if necessary...it isn't necessary). low for 8hrs worked for me. delicious.

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2012
ok. believe the hype. this soup is really really GOOD...i can't believe it's this good...doesn't need to sit over night for flavors to meld...i'm still in a bit of shock...it was so simple...i followed recipe exactly (no added salt needed). you will not be disappointed.

Beans, Greens and Garlic Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2012
incredibly good...unbelievably good given how simple it is. used regular spinach instead of baby spinach, added a cup of raw chicken breast cut into 1-2 inch pieces...did that when the pasta was just about cooked. Other than that stuck to recipe...family scarfed it up.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Reviewed: May 22, 2011
what a hit!!! melted bag of choc chips (bittersweet chips...this is key to offset the sweetness of the strawbs) on the low setting of my 1970s electric stove...stirring constantly, as soon as i noticed first chips melting took pot off stove and cont stirring. one bag oc choc chips and 1 tbsp butter...35 large Driscoll strawbs with stem on..., this will def be my go to dessert while strawbs are in season...again, what a hit!!

i gotta say i didn't think this was amazing...but my family did, go figure. used chicken broth (bullion) instead of beef broth. added a couple cloves minced garlic to sauteing onions.

Kofta Kebabs

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2010
made this recipe with ground beef (85% lean), turkey (dark meat) and lamb. folks really loved it; although the lamb and turkey kabobs were more popular than the beef. wrapped a large handful onto each skewer, the recipe made 6 skewers. grilled then cut them into 1 inch pieces for pita stuffing...excellent recipe!

Chocolate Caramel Candy

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
ok...all I can say is "wow". this is sooo yummy! just finished making a batch with semi-sweet chips...holy moly. in cold weather climes (it's 25 degrees outside), just set it outside for the in between steps, instead of the frige: only needs 15 minutes each time on the porch versus the 1hr in the fridge. this stuff is deadly!

Cottage Pudding - Upside Down Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
works well in an 8X8 dish also. used pineapple with marichino cherry in the middle of each. best part was i made the butter/brownsugar/pineapple part, put it in the 8X8, covered it and put it in the frige (for 24hrs) until i was ready to make the dessert. it was easy to whip up the cake part then add it to to what i had prepared earlier. had it cooking in the over during dinner...turned out great! really tasty!
