Pollo Fajitas

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2005
I used beef instead of chicken, just a cheap cut and it was AWESOME! I added some other vegetables for variety. Everyone licked their plates clean!

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2007
Excellent! I used 2 cups (200g) of chopped, 72% cocoa chocolate and 1/2 cup of white chocolate chips instead of the walnuts. Half raw sugar and half demerara (loose). They taste awesome!

Blueberry Crisp II

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2007
I used a mix of demerara sugar and raw sugar. Tripled the topping recipe, but doubled the blueberries. Turned out perfect! Sprinkled 1/2 cup of sugar from the topping recipe onto the berries. Will definitely make again!

Only marinated 1 hour, but it was delicious! Grilled it on the bbq with half of the burners off. Will definitely make again!

Caesar Salad Croutons

Reviewed: May 5, 2007
Excellent! Made only half the recipe because I was using a mini baguette. Instead of toasting in the oven, I toasted on the bbq while I did the chicken for the caesar salad.

Banana Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2007
I cut the sugar to 1/2 cup and squished 2 of the bananas and finely chopped 2 other bananas and folded those into the cooling pudding mixture. I poured them into cream cheese tart shells (from this site) and drizzled with melted chocolate. They were a HUGE hit at dinner!

Cream Cheese Tart Shells

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2007
I doubled the recipe to make full sized tarts. I sprinkled the tarts with raw sugar before baking. Baked, and then filled with the Banana Cream Pie recipe from this site. EXCELLENT taste. I found it easiest to squish the dough into a foot long roll and wrap in saran wrap and chill. Then it was easy to cut it into 12 slices and each of those slices in half.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2007
Excellent! I used boneless, skinless thighs and tossed them with some 5-spice powder. Threw them in the wok with some oil, added some mixed veggies and then poured on the teriyaki sauce (only half the sugar and 1 tsp each of garlic & ginger and sub'd red wine vinegar). It makes the perfect stir-fry, 15 mins later!

Pizza Dough III

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2006
Final tasted excellent! I had to add flour, next time, I'll cut the water by half like another poster. I added seasonings (and the extra flour) otherwise, I did the recipe as described. I will make it again! And I'll cook it at 375, it took 35 mins at 350 :)

Baked Whole Cauliflower

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2006
Love this recipe! I've made it before, and my FIL said "I hate cauliflower, but this is the best I have ever tasted!" Tonight, I added in red potatoes & onion and cut the cauliflower up. EXCELLENT!

Peach Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2008
Excellent! Subbed Mango for Peach because the grocer didn't have any nice peaches. Added a variety of veggies, leftover grilled chicken and 200g multigrain fusilli. Will be making again!

Marinade for Steak I

Reviewed: May 8, 2005
The best steak marinade I've every used! I warmed the marinade in the microwave before adding it to the steaks, it tasted good enough to drink. Used a cheap cut of meat, added a little extra garlic, used half olive oil, half butter, was PERFECT! When the steak was done, I topped with melted garlic butter.

Momma's Wine Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2004
Excellent recipe! I only had 1/2 cup of wine, so I subsitituted 1/4 cup gingerale. I added 1 tsp vanilla too. I cooked the recipe as cupcakes and topped with the Cool Whipped Frosting on this site. They were delicious! My whole family LOVED them.

White Velvet

Made this for guests. They loved it! It's peach season, so I topped it with peaches in a simple syrup. I used one bigger mold and unmolded then drizzled the peaches over the top.

Rhubarb Sour Cream Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2006
Excellent blend of flavors! I cut back the sugar and added some cinnamon, but otherwise, left the recipe as is. I had rhubarb, filling and topping left over as well as some pie tops, so I made some turnovers with the reminaing ingredients. Fantastic!

Honey Baked Chicken II

Reviewed: May 8, 2006
EXCELLENT! Used 1/3 cup butter, stone ground mustard, add chili powder and 2 cloves garlic to existing recipe. Reserved some for basting, the rest for marinating. Grilled instead of baking. Fantastic, both the children and my husband LOVED it.

Shortbread Cookies II

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2004
Made these yesterday, they're perfect! With my cookie press, I ended up with 4 dozen cookies of different shapes. The kids loved making them! I left some "au naturel", some with chocolate threads, some with cherries and some with chocolate and cherries. Everyone LOVED them.

Raspberry Pain au Chocolat (Raspberry Chocolate Croissants)

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2007
Awesome! And didn't take long at all! Instead of cutting individually, I just rolled one sheet of puff pastry onto parchment, lightly scored the sheet so that I knew where to place the spread & jam. Then I rolled out the other sheet on parchment. Egged around sheet #1 and then put sheet #2 on top. Cut with my pizza wheel and I was done! Took about 30 mins including the baking time :)
