Sweet Potato Crisp

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2012
Everyone in the family loved this one! I only used 2/3 cup of white sugar as suggested by others and thought it was a good amount. I did add cinnamon to the sweet potatoes (just sprinkled some in).

Double Decker Tacos

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2009
These are great for people that like Taco Bell's double decker. Same basic principle applies - don't wait too long to eat or the crunch is history!

Apple-Cran-Cherry Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2007
This was sooo good! I didn't have cardamom but I spiced it like I would apple pie. I added diced apples and omited the cherries. I did add some salt since I changed the spices. Just bake the first batch then change recipe to your tastes. EVERYONE in the family loved these (and that's saying something).

Creamy Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: May 26, 2007
This tasted a little like an alfredo sauce. I guess b/c of the parmesean. I used a 16 oz bag of spiral noodles and there was still plenty of sauce. Basically a white sauce with cheese. I only added a drop of mustard but I sauteed onion in the butter and added garlic powder. This is a nice no-bake recipe for mac n cheese.

Honey Wheat Bread I

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2004
I use butter instead of shortening and add a little more honey for a sweeter taste. I only use 1/2 cup of water. This works great in the bread machine and all I do is form the dough into rolls and let them rise before baking. Easy bread to make.

Italian Meatball Sandwich Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2004
I left out the water and toasted the bread as suggested and added more sauce and cheese. The kids thought it was Lasagna and loved it! I plan on using the meatballs for spaghetti since they were so good. This is a great recipe! Thanks!

Easy Cajun Jambalaya

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2004
This was a great recipe. My husband likes things spicy but I don't so this was a good compromise. I used brown rice and it worked fine, just needed to cook a little longer. This is something I'll make again.

Army SOS Creamed Ground Beef

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2003
I had to add a can of cream of mushroom soup. I served this over egg noodles. This is almost like beef stroganoff (I make mine with sour cream and cream of mushroom soup. I guess with the soup added I might use this if I don't have any sour cream but it just didn't have enough flavor for us.

White Cheese Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2003
I used leftover turkey instead of chicken. The sauce tastes like an alfredo sauce so if you're in a hurry I think you could cheat. My husband wouldn't even try this but it was his loss b/c I sent some of this to others in the family and they wanted the recipe. This took about the same amount of time and effort as regular lasagna.

Mexican Whole Wheat Flour Tortillas

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2003
These turned out great!! (after I turned the stove down and stopped smoking up the house:))I used these in enchiladas (Betty Crocker recipe) and couldn't taste the difference from store bought tortillas. These are a keeper for me! Thanks! I used a damp towel over the dough while it was resting so it didn't dry out any. easy to roll out.

Light Wheat Rolls

I made 2 loaves of bread with this recipe and they turned out great! I did everything the same except shaped the dough into loaves instead of rolls and let them rise.

Oatmeal Craisin Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2003
I used a little less sugar and added a tsp cinnamon. This recipe was easy enough that I was able to let my toddlers help. Now I can't get them to stop eating them! These were really good. Thanks for the recipe!

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2003
I added italian seasoning, basil, and parmesean cheese as others suggested. I also substituted one cup of wheat flour. I cheated and used the dough cycle of my bread machine for this and it worked great.

Cinnamon Cranraisin Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2003
I substituted one cup of wheat flour and added more craisins. I just dumped them on top of the other ingredients and it worked fine. I used the dough setting and put it in a breadpan, let it rise and baked it. This turned out great!

Oregano Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2003
I used my skillet for this recipe. I dumped in everything then added frozen chicken breasts on medium heat and cooked the rest of supper while that was simmering. I turned them a few times. These were moist and full of flavor. Great recipe!
