About this Cook
I've always loved to cook! Since setting up my own kitchen, I have enjoyed trying new recipes and making family favorites time after time again. I am always looking for new recipes and ways to please my hubby, family and guests.
My favorite things to cook
Working full time, I enjoy finding recipes that can be prepared in the slow cooker or that are quick but somewhat healthy. Lately I have been into exploring whole grains like quinoa.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Weekend baking and teaching the younger generations how to make cookies- this was something my Grandmother taught me! It made me appreciate quality time that can be spent when cooking as a family.
My cooking triumphs
My biggest triumph was learning how to make cabbage rolls! And a chocolate cake that was described as "decadently sinful".
My cooking tragedies
Making pancakes- you'd think I could handle something simple like that? Nope, I have to get other people to make them for me. They are always raw or burned, no happy medium!

Perfect Turkey
Great recipe! We will definitely be keeping this for future reference! It was the hit of thanksgiving dinner. Next time we will use a cooler full of ice to brine the turkey, rather than the fridge. At first we put the turkey in two large garbage bags and added the brine but it wasn't very practical in the fridge. Thank you for the tastiest, juiciest and flavourful turkey recipe ever!

Apple Squares
This is excellent! I doubled the recipe like a previous review suggested, except the topping and the white and brown sugars- I only put in 3/4 of a cup of each instead of 1 cup of each. I also chopped the apples up quite small and added an extra 1/3 of a cup. The result was phenomenal and very moist. Didn't even notice I cut back the sugar. I bet it could even be cut down more. Great reviews of it in my house! This is a keeper.

Szechwan Shrimp
Excellent recipe! My hubby and I had this for supper and we made 4x the sauce. I only added half of the hot pepper flakes and it was pretty spicy at that. Very good flavor. It was also good with veggies like red onion, mushrooms, celery, carrots, etc. Just quickly stir fry them first, set them aside and add at the end to coat with sauce.
