Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
I just made this recipe for the 1st time after having it in my recipe box for months... fantastic! Why on earth did I wait so long to try this? I ended up using about 4.5 cups of flour without any additional water. I also brushed them with melted butter after they came out of the oven. Also, don't forget to completely wet the pretzels in the baking soda solution because they don't get that nice brown color in the oven without it.

Chocolate Snowballs

I followed the instructions and the results were perfect. My husband said to give these a "10" rating. These cookies literally melt in your mouth, and have a nice chocolate flavor. Thanks very much Mary Lou!

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2012
Love these cookies!!! The only thing I had to change was the amount of milk to make the glaze... I ended up using 1 TBSP rather than 1 TSP as the recipe calls for.

Margarita Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2010
I've made this recipe several times for parties that I have attended. No leftovers either time. I always use lemon cake mix since I'm not a huge fan of anything orange flavored. Also, I use Cointreau instead of triple sec as that is how I like my margaritas... :) Overall, great recipe!

Kikkoman Chinese Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2010
Great flavor! The only change that I did was that I kept the beef in the pan when it came time to add the peppers and onions.

Creamy Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2012
I substituted 1% milk for the evaporated and added a shot of chocolate liqueur for good measure and it still came out quite tasty. I will definitely make this one again.

I only had dried thyme on hand, but this still turned out great! Very easy to make and great flavor.

Cinnamon Bread Delight

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2010
I'd give this 10 stars if I could! I used sugar-free instant vanilla pudding, cinnamon applesauce, and 1 TBSP of cinnamon when I made this recipe... moist and awesome cinnamon flavor.

Cinnamon Bread I

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2010
I've made this recipe a couple of times now, and I think it is great. I add extra cinnamon to the batter as I can't have enough cinnamon flavor in my bread. Other than that, this one is a keeper!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2011
I just finished baking these cookies for the 1st time and certainly won't be the last! I switched out the 1 TBSP of vanilla for 1 tsp. vanilla + 2 tsp. coffee liqueur and also added some chopped walnuts... yummy!

Herbed Pork Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2012
Added onion and garlic powders to the mix based on our personal preferences. I also used about 3 TBSP of olive oil to make a paste with the herbs. I let the roast sit out at room temp. for about 2 hours with the herb rub on it before putting in the oven at 450 F for 15 minutes. I dropped the temp. down to 350 F and it took our 5 lb. roast about 1.5 hours in total to cook. Yummy results and will definitely use this recipe again!

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
Awesome flavor. I used 1 TBSP for 1 lb. of lean ground steak and you could taste the spices without feeling like your mouth was on fire. My husband and I will probably use more than 1 TBSP of this spice mix at a time as we like a little more heat than what we experienced the 1st time. Thanks for sharing this recipe!!

Best Marinara Sauce Yet

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2011
Great sauce. I used tomato sauce instead of stewed tomatoes (that's what I had on hand) and dried parsley instead of fresh. I had my reservations about using the wine, but I'm glad that I did.

Chocolate Cavity Maker Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2012
This cake is so rich and moist, we didn't think it needed any frosting or glaze on top. My only substitution was a 1/2 c. of Godiva chocolate liqueur instead of Kahlua... definitely making this one again!!

I used Kahlua instead of the rum (personal preference) and left out the nuts. OMG, these were awesome! I'll definitely be making these cookies again. Thanks for the great recipe!

Skipped the red wine because I didn't have any on hand and this recipe still turned out great. Super easy and will definitely make again.

The Whole Jar of Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2010
I chose this recipe because I had a jar of natural peanut butter that I needed to use up or dispose of (the texture is NOT the same as regular peanut butter). And I'm so glad that I did! I omitted the egg yolk and peanuts in the batch that I made and they still turned out awesome. Also, I followed the advice of another reviewer by microwaving the jar of peanut butter for about 30 seconds in order to soften it before adding to the batter. All of my cookies are soft and have a great chewy texture. Using the entire jar of peanut butter ensures cookies full of PB flavor. All in all, Kevin gets an A+ for this recipe IMO.
