Vegan Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
This was amazing! I had never made black bean soup, and it was extremely easy. I didn't have any celery so made it without. Also, because I have small children, I cut down on the chili powder (1/2). Everyone (except for my picky 3 year old who eats nothing but tomato pie and pb&j) devoured it!! Wonderful recipe!!

Sweet and Sour Tofu Veggies

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2011
This dish was very easy and flavorful. I thought the sweet and sour came through beautifully, and is a nice flavor for adults and children. I doubled the sauce portion, simply because we are sauce people. The only change I made to the recipe ingredients wise was to use Bragg's Aminos instead of soy sauce. You really could use any veg you want for the stir fry since the sauce is what really makes the dish. Lastly, mine thickened up perfectly using the arrowroot.

My Crab Cakes

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2009
I read the reviews, and ignored the bad ones because so many were great. Maybe its because I used canned crab? I even made the recommended modifications by so many reviewers by increasing the crab and decreasing the crackers. My husband and I tasted the first one while the others cooked. They were so bad. Terribly disappointed!!

PHILLY Sugar Shack Maple Walnut Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
RAVE reviews! I used Ginger Snaps for the crust as suggested in another review since I couldn't find maple cookies. Turned out wonderful. Super simple to make.

Chicken Paprikash I

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2006
This is soooo good!! Very easy to make. I do double the onion, paprika, white wine, chicken broth, and sour cream to have more sauce. We serve it over egg noodles.

Raisin Sauce for Ham II

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2006
Very very good! Instead of using water and the brown sugar, I used the juice from the slow cooker ham recipe on this site. Yummy!!

Slow Cooker Ham

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2006
Fantastic!!!! It makes sooo much juice...you can use it to make raisin sauce (gravy) instead of using water (and of course don't add additional brown sugar since its already in there!)

Creamy Scallop Chowder

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2006
I agree with other reviews...it is hard to mess this one up and is lots of fun to play with. I doubled the milk, white wine, butter, and mushrooms. Then, I added about 2 TBL of minced garlic, 3 large or six small potatoes, and 3 carrots. To turn it into more of a seafood chowder I also added 3 cans of chopped clams along with the juice. Soooooo good!!!!

Sauerkraut Filling for Pierogi

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2006
This is DELICIOUS!!! I got rave reviews. I also love the addition of the sour cream...gives it a nice texture without too much moisture. A very nice change from the standard potato filling.

Pretzel Coated Fried Fish

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2005
This was VERY good! I pan fried it in a deep skillet, 5 minutes per side, and it came out perfectly. I was worried the larger pieces of pretzel wouldn't stay on, but they did. The coating was wonderfully crunchy. Will make again!

Good, but a little to cheesy for pizza sauce. Its also pretty thick.

Mexican Baked Fish

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2003
This recipe is wonderful! I am not a huge fan of fish, at all, but have to make it sometimes because my husband enjoys it. I made this and LOVED it! It is super quick as well. I look forward to making it again.
