This turned out great, but just a little bland. I guess I'm used to "candied" sweet potatoes. I read dozens of reviews and added many things that people suggested like nutmeg, ground cloves, cinnamon, orange peel spice, pumpkin spice, dribble of mapel syrup and doubled the vanilla. I used evaporated milk. Maybe it would be tastier if I had baked the potatoes in their skin instead of boiled them (I started boiling them before I read all the reviews with that recommendation!) Everyone really enjoyed this dish, so it was successful, but next time I might add brown sugar or more syrup.
