Peanut Butter Vegetable Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2008
This was really tasty and unexpected. The addition of peanut butter provided a really interesting flavour, and also made the soup feel heartier. Great twist on a basic recipe.

Butternut Squash Bisque

Excellent. My husband called it restaurant quality and raved about it all week. We had leftovers and enjoyed it for days.

Scallops Provencale

A great recipe - bookmarking for serving to guests. We didn't have access to sea scallops and had to use a smaller frozen variety, but it turned out fantastic anyway. (We did use larger shrimp to compensate).

No-Tomatoes-Required Italian Seasoned Stir Fry

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
I made this on Labour Day and had to substitute for items I didn't have on hand. (Substituted asparagus for the zucchini, italian seasoning for the garlic powder and balsamic vinagrette for the italian dressing). We really, really enjoyed it and I'd like to try it again with the proper ingredients. My only regret is that we didn't have any white wine to drink with it.

Wonton Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2006
Adored this recipe. I used chicken instead of pork because of personal preference. Next time I think I will use ground chicken. It was fun to make the wontons too. Not as hard or time consuming as I thought it would be. I froze them and used them to make single servings of soup whenever I craved it.

Spicy Mango Sweet Potato Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2010
This was an excellent recipe. Next time I will add some red pepper and scale back on the sweet potato. I served over rice and I liked it to soak up some of the sauce, but I didn't need all that starch.

Joy's Prizewinning Trifle

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2005
So very, very good! I made it with all low-fat products and it was still to-die-for. I could eat the whipped topping/sour cream/pudding mix mixture like ice cream it is so delicious. I have made it since as just a topping for fruit, without the cake and other ingredients.

Cranberry Chutney I

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2005
I have made this several times now as it is the recipe people ask me to bring to Thanksgiving and Christmas - which is great because it is a snap to make! It always creates a stir though...just something more interesting than your "canned" cranberry sauce.

Grilled Spicy Lamb Burgers

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2005
One of the best recipes I've come across on this site. I had to make several modifications to suit the personal tastes (rather, work around the dislikes) of my family. I added chopped vidalia onion, eliminated the cilantro and the mint. I put out tzatziki sauce, tomatoes, and sliced vidalia for garnishes and it was a huge hit.

Turtle Cake II

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2004
I forgot to add the pecans and chocolate chips on top of the caramel mixture so I mixed pecans into the frosting instead. It turned out to be very tasty. I brought it to a birthday party and it was well received by everyone. I found it very rich - so no need to make serving sizes large.

Asian Salmon

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2009
We really enjoyed this recipe. I did make one modification, which was to substitute honey for some of the brown sugar, because my brown sugar had gone rock solid. I think the honey was a nice addition.

Roasted Vegetables

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2003
This was great. After reading the other reviews I decided to omit the rosemary and thyme because I did not have the fresh herbs on had (only dried). It was still delicious with just the oil, balsamic vinegar and salt & pepper. My dinner guests really liked it.
