Glazed Meatloaf II

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2003
Really tasty! Next time I will make extra sauce though, as I had only enough to pour over the top and found myself wanting some extra to dip in.

Kona Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2003
I may have overcooked it because my slow cooker goes into automatic warming mode after the cook time has lapsed, but this was terrible. The sauce was just not good and, as others have pointed out, made the chicken turn a very unappetizing shade.

Roasted Vegetables

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2003
This was great. After reading the other reviews I decided to omit the rosemary and thyme because I did not have the fresh herbs on had (only dried). It was still delicious with just the oil, balsamic vinegar and salt & pepper. My dinner guests really liked it.

Beef with Vegetables

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2003
This was a good recipe. The flavours are nice but not unforgettable. I mixed in hot rice and used it as a filling for lettuce wraps.

Green Olive Chicken II

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2004
This was full of great flavors. The next time I make it I will reduce the cooking time as simmering for the full hour made the chicken a bit on the dry side. Still, a great recipe. Thanks!

Apple Crisp IV

I only personally got a few bites of this but it looked awesome and tasted great. I wouldn't change a thing!

Egg Foo Yung I

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2004
This has always been one of my favourite chinese food dishes when ordering in. This recipe was just as good as anything I've tasted by the "pros". One note is that the directions for making the sauce seemed odd to me, because they didn't indicate to heat the sauce. I made it in a saucepan and added a tablespoon of oyster sauce for added thickness and flavour. It turned out great. (Bring it to a boil and then simmer to make it thicken) YUM!!!!

Turtle Cake II

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2004
I forgot to add the pecans and chocolate chips on top of the caramel mixture so I mixed pecans into the frosting instead. It turned out to be very tasty. I brought it to a birthday party and it was well received by everyone. I found it very rich - so no need to make serving sizes large.

Cocoa Rum Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2004
These were just okay...The rum was overpowering, even my father, who loves rum, thought these were too strong tasting.

Grilled Spicy Lamb Burgers

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2005
One of the best recipes I've come across on this site. I had to make several modifications to suit the personal tastes (rather, work around the dislikes) of my family. I added chopped vidalia onion, eliminated the cilantro and the mint. I put out tzatziki sauce, tomatoes, and sliced vidalia for garnishes and it was a huge hit.

Cranberry Chutney I

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2005
I have made this several times now as it is the recipe people ask me to bring to Thanksgiving and Christmas - which is great because it is a snap to make! It always creates a stir though...just something more interesting than your "canned" cranberry sauce.

Citrus Swordfish With Citrus Salsa

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2005
The recipe was extremely tasty and made a wonderful summer meal (I made it back in June, but just getting around to reviewing it). My BIG MISTAKE was not having ever handled jalepenos before I was not aware that one should wear gloves when touching the seeds and membranes of a jalepeno. I paid for it all night with hands that felt like they were on fire! When I did a google search I found that this is a well-documented fact, which made me feel really stupid but I don't come from a culture that uses hot peppers so I had no idea. Anyway, a word of warning to others who do not know this. Wear gloves, you will regret it otherwise.

Cabbage on the Grill

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2005
I made this the first time to the recipes specifications. It was pretty good (and very easy) so I made it several times more using different spices - paprika and chili, cumin, etc. All were very tasty.

Joy's Prizewinning Trifle

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2005
So very, very good! I made it with all low-fat products and it was still to-die-for. I could eat the whipped topping/sour cream/pudding mix mixture like ice cream it is so delicious. I have made it since as just a topping for fruit, without the cake and other ingredients.

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2005
Everyone enjoyed this recipe. I increased the hoisin/ginger/soy/rice wine vinegar mix because the mixture seemed too dry, and it was just right that way.

Asian Broccoli Patties

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2006
It may have been the type of teriyaki I used but I found this rather bland. I dipped mine in soy with some wasabi (horseradish) and topped with ginger, and it was okay. I don't know if I'd make again...Perhaps with some modifications. Thanks anyway for an interesting idea.

Wonton Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2006
Adored this recipe. I used chicken instead of pork because of personal preference. Next time I think I will use ground chicken. It was fun to make the wontons too. Not as hard or time consuming as I thought it would be. I froze them and used them to make single servings of soup whenever I craved it.

Eggplant Parmesan II

I made this for a boxing day potluck and it went over very well. As a healthier version of the original it was as good as it gets.

Party Kielbasa

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2006
This was quite tasty. I actually made it out of curiosity because the ingredients list sounded so bizarre. It went together as quickly as can be and was a hit at the party.

Hot Ham and Cheese Sandwiches

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2006
I substituted french baguette for the hamburger buns and dijon mustard for horseradish mustard (I don't know if those are the same thing...I couldn't find horseradish mustard). It was a good crowd pleaser on a cold winter day.
