About this Cook
Going to university not only gave me a degree, but a love of cooking! I started small, as most students on a budget do. I soon grew bored and began looking for more challenging and interesting recipes. For most, cooking for hours something that will be devoured in seconds is worthless. For me, I absolutely love knowing I've created something delicious that people will ask for time, and time again.
My favorite things to cook
Fish, chicken, pork, and above all else: desserts!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas baking has always been my favourite tradition.
My cooking triumphs
Christmas 2011 I attempted truffles for the first time, and I conquered!
My cooking tragedies
When I first started, I burnt soup. I think the worst was baking a birthday cake and it was completely burnt. My oven is 24 years old, and the thermometer doesn't work, so I'm blaming that. It was terrible.

Best Toffee Ever - Super Easy
Looking through the reviews, I can't believe people had a problem with this! I've made this recipe for the past 3 years, without a candy thermometer, and I've never had a problem with it. I judge it based on the colour of the toffee as it's boiling. With that being said, this is amazing! Everyone always loves it, and it's always a hit at potlucks. I've made a video of me making it for this Christmas: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUPhej9mWew

Elephant Ears
Mine didn't come out crispy, but these were still fantastic! I only made a half batch to test the recipe, and I can honestly say I will always make a full batch (or two!) next time. I made a video as I attempted the recipe, giving full credit of course: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0AgWlSyqWw&feature=youtu.be

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies
A very nice, simple chocolate chip cookie recipe! I've never actually made them from scratch before so I'm glad I found such a good one. I took the suggestion of another review and simply put the baking soda in without the water and put in more vanilla. I was surprised how well these baked and formed. In my oven, I had to bake them for about 13/14 minutes.
