Sausage and Sauerkraut

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2014
I have to say a was a little leery about trying this recipe but I wanted some sauerkraut. I had to substitute a couple of things because I didn't have any bacon or apples. Since I didn't have any apples I used an 8 0z jar of homemade apple sauce and didn't add the brown sugar. I put a little oil in the frying pan and dumped in some bacon bit and sauteed the onion with them. This turned out really good and my husband even liked it. I will be making this again when I want to do something different with kielbasa.

Warm Chicken Ranch Wraps

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2012
This was very good for a quick meal. I added a little salsa with the ranch dressing just for a little more flavor. I will be making this again.

Kielbasa Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2012
delicious meal. I didn't use the tomato soup but a jar of home canned stewed tomatoes. My husband really enjoyed this too. I will be making this again and again this winter.

Kielbasa with Brussels Sprouts in Mustard Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2012
This was delicious. I roasted the Brussels sprouts with the shallot and garlic as others suggested. I took out the shallots and garlic and smashed them in a small bowl and sauteed them as the recipe stated. I didn't have coarse dejon mustard but I had some stoned ground mustard that I used. After sauteing the shallot and garlic I deglazed the pan with a little white wine. I also didn't have any white beans so I left them out. I will be making this again. My husband didn't think he liked Brussels sprouts but he had seconds of this dish.

Campbell's Kitchen Easy Chicken Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2012
This was pretty good. I didn't have frozen peas so I used canned peas and instead of bread crumbs I topped with cheddar cheese and added some onion. My husband ate three helpings so that tells me it was pretty good. He usually doesn't eat that much. I will keep this in mind on those nights I don't feel like cooking. Easy to through together.

The Best Meatballs

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2012
I wanted to make some meatball sandwiches for dinner and found this recipe for meatballs. I reduced the recipe down to 4 servings because there are only two of us. followed the recipe exactly except for the fresh parsley I used dried instead because that is all I had. And I didn't use veal. I used some homemade sausage that I had in the freezer. I didn't fry them I baked them in the oven as others suggested. These turned out great. The only thing I will do different next time is to make them smaller.

Marinara Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2012
I have made this twice now. the first time I made as directed using diced tomatoes that I canned last year from my garden. It was wonderful. My husband loved it and he normally doesn't like Italian sauces. The second time I didn't have any more diced tomatoes so I used a jar of stewed tomatoes that I canned last year and I had some fresh tomatoes that need to be used out of garden this year. After letting this simmer until ready I took my stick blender and blended it smooth. It absolutely to die for. I am using it to make meatball sandwiches. I will be using this recipe often. Thank you so much for sharing this.

Caramelized Turnips

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2012
This was very good. I was given some turnips today and I didn't know what to do with them. I have only used turnips in soups and roasted root vegetables. So I turned to Allrecipes as I always do and found this recipe. I did add onions as other suggested and only used one tablespoon of brown sugar. My husband said he liked them better than he thought he would. I will be making this again. I also liked the fact that it was low in calories. Thanks for sharing this.

A Very Popular BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2012
I have made this twice. It is the best bbq sauce in the world. I will not be buying any more bbq sauce since I have found this recipe. Thanks for sharing. I make it exactly as stated but I took others advice and cook for about 10 or 15 minutes. It's the best.

Get-Well Custard

Reviewed: May 5, 2012
I make this when I make angel food cake. I use the egg yolks and then follow the rest of the recipe. I put it in individual custard cups. I have not had a problem with the water that some have complained about. My husband I both enjoy this.
