Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie
First off you should know the alterations I made. I used Cisco shortening instead of butter, for 1/4 of the flour I used wheat flour, and used trivia baking blend instead of sugar. And halved the chocolate chips.
Now, I've got to say I wouldn't really describe these cookies as chewy. The edges were just crunchy enough and the inside was soft, but not really chewy. I'd describe it more cake-like in texture. Which wasn't bad, just not really what I wanted. I must admit though, they were pretty big and puffy. Didn't flatten out like most ready-made doughs.
Overall they were pretty good, just not exactly what I wanted. The boyfriend seemed to like them plenty though!
