Shrimp Scampi with Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2014
Didn't have much flavor. Neither my husband nor I would make it again. The shrimp tasted great but the pasta was bland. I don't know.

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2014
I used 1/2 olive oil, 1/2 butter but otherwise followed the recipe as written. The sauce is to die for. Seriously incredible. Next time I will use a bit more cheese or add some at the end, because most of it melted out of the chicken and into the pan. I also need to tinker with the cooking time as my chicken came out a little dry but I think that was user error relating to the size of the chicken breast I used. The flavor was very good. Thanks for the recipe!

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2010
This recipe was incredibly easy and it tasted wonderful. I used low sodium soy sauce but that was the only change I made to the recipe. I will use this often. Thank you!

I really liked this recipe. It was very easy and really flavorful. It was fabulous with teriyaki chicken. Thanks.

Fruit Dip II

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2007
This took me about 3 minutes to make and it was fantastic. I doubled the recipe for a party and added a teaspoon and a half of cinnamon. Wonderful. Thanks!

Terrific Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2007
I thought this was wonderful. I have an aversion to zucchini so I left that out and added a can of kidney beans when the chili was almost done. That's just personal preference. I also like a little more spice so I added a teaspoon of chili powder. Thanks!

Triple Berry Crisp

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2004
I used frozen berries because fresh berries are extremely expensive around here in the middle of winter and it was absolutely fantastic. Next time I will probably double the amount of berries to make it more of a deep-dish crisp - mine came out looking a little like a bar cookie because of the relatively small amount of berries. It still tasted wonderful though!

Hoagie Dip

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2004
This is a wonderful recipe, although it is not at all what I expected. I took this to a St. Paddy's Day party and got several requests for the recipe. I added a little red wine vinegar per another reviewer's suggestion and increased the mayo/oreg/vinegar mix by about 50% - I like a slightly wetter dip than you get from the amount of mayo called for in the recipe. It was excellent - thanks!

Guacamole

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2003
This is really a fantastic recipe. I doubled the recipe and took it to a Fiesta Bowl party. It got rave reviews from absolutely everyone. I cut back a little bit on the lime juice but that's just personal preference. For those of you who don't think of guacamole as a dip, this will change your mind.

Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2002
This is a wonderful, hearty recipe. I left out the red wine b/c I didn't have any on hand and it was still really tasty. It also makes enough for an army that hasn't eaten for two weeks.

Best Chicken Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2002
This is a wonderful recipe. My Dad just went wild over it. I used red onions (they're a lot stronger so I used far less than the recipe called for) because Vidalia Onions aren't in season. Although they were adequate in a pinch, I think the sweet onions would compliment the dish a little bit better. I also broiled the chicken rather than grilling it (b/c of the snow), which worked just fine.

Spicy Pretzels

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2002
I have to agree with the previous person in some respects. I liked these pretzels, but couldn't eat very many of them because they were so incredibly salty. I think you could probably cut the garlic salt in half (or more). I also didn't find them to be extremely spicy-hot, just salty. Again, I did like them, but a little went a long way.

Seven Layer Dip I

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2002
This is a really wonderful dip. I took the advice of previous "reviewers" and added a package of taco seasoning to the ground beef and another package to the sour cream. This was a big hit with my family. Spreading the sour cream and the guacamole is a bit of a pain though. As others have suggested, I would recommend doubling the sour cream and guacamole so that you have more to spread and stirring the sour cream up a little bit to make it a little more fluid.

Breakfast Casserole II

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2001
My family absolutely loved this dish! Five stars all the way. I made it for Christmas breakfast (w/ Monkey Bread - also a winner!) and it was a huge hit. I used 16 oz. of chopped ham rather than sausage, and I think that the ham gave the recipe the extra salt that it needed. I also cooked it for an extra 15 minutes or so because the center of the dish took a little extra time to set. I'll definitely make this again.

Quick and Easy Monkey Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2001
This recipe is fantastic! I made this on Christmas morning also, and everyone went wild over it. A couple of comments - you don't really need quite that much of the brown sugar/butterscotch mixture. It certainly doesn't hurt the recipe at all, but you could get by with less. Also, I would suggest holding a little of the brown sugar mixture and the cinnamon mixture back so that you can sprinkle some of it (and a little butter) over the buns after they have risen in the pan - prior to cooking them.

Blueberry Cream Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2001
I loved these!! Very moist and cake-like. I made them twice in one week, once with blueberries and once with raspberries. Both versions were wonderful. This recipe easily makes two dozen muffins. I got 32 muffins both times and I was filling the muffin cups almost to the top.

Cinnamon Chips Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2001
This was certainly the easiest recipe I've ever tried, but I wasn't wild about the result. They weren't terrible; they're just not my kind of muffin. I like moist, cake-like muffins. These came out kind of dry and biscuit-like. They reminded me more of scones than muffins. Just not my cup of tea.

Factory Workers Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2001
This chicken turned out wonderfully. We really enjoyed it. I would agree with the reviewer who said that 16 oz. of dressing and 16 oz. of salsa is way too much (resulted in a lot of waste; try it w/ 8 oz of each first and then add more if you need to) and I would also agree with the person that said this takes a lot longer than 20 minutes to cook. I would say it took closer to 50 minutes.
