Herbal Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2003
This was good. I especially liked the lemon zest flavor. I would not recommend this recipe for tuna sandwiches but better served with asssorted greens and /or sliced tomato. In addition to the two blended eggs, I added one diced egg to tuna salad.

Chicken Tortilla Soup III

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2003
First you need to know I am not a fan of mexican food,I was asked to bring a dish to a party with a "Mexican Theme" so I made this soup recipe. I thought it was ok but others thought it was good; therefore I have given it four stars!

Slow Cooker Barbeque

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2003
Sorry, we did not like this recipe. Would rather have had a good old "Sloppy Joe"! Also it took alot longer than 8 hours to cook---more like 12.

Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2003
Great for all the reasons noted by other reviews; but I've got to tell you I have some difficulty thinking about all the additional fat I infused in the humble red potatoes. Next time I will use less butter, fat free cream cheese and sour cream even if it means compromising flavor a little. I suspect they would still would be very good.

Sour Cream Chocolate Chip Cake I

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2003
My family loved this cake. I am not a chocolate chip fan but I liked this recipe because it was easy to make, no frosting is required or desired(makes it easy to transport in bag lunches or for picnic lunches). "Cake in the hand",no fork required! Do not forget to add the vanilla that is mentioned in the ingredients but neglected in the directions.

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2003
Excellent. I loved this dish! I made my own crust (frugal) and used my deep dish pie pan and I had plenty of room to spare. In fact the next time I will add more spinach. Instead of butter I used 3T olive oil (heart healthy). Also, I only used 4 oz. of Feta because it was pre-packaged that way. I served this with garden fresh sliced tomatoes---perfecto!

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2003
This was only ok, nothing special! I served it to a party of six on Sunday. My grandaughter said it was too cheesy ( I silently agreed), my daughter gave it a polite "it's good" and there was no response from others---or second helpings served. I think the reviewers are very generous with their ratings on this dish!

Slow-Cooked German Short Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2003
Good, but beef sort ribs are a little expensive for my buget. I used boneless short ribs ( they were leaner) and was disappointed. Tasted like chuck roast that was cut into riblets (maybe it was)---they cost twice as much as chuck roast! If I made this again I would use pork ribs,I actually think they would be better.

Make Ahead French Toast

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2003
Great with or without nuts! I would not change a thing in this recipe. I especially like easy one pan dishes because I cook a breakfast or dinner dish for the homeless(#12) once a month. One pan dishes like this make it easy for me and ensures a delightful surprise for them! In turn it makes me feel as though I gave my very best (I never tell how easy)! Thank you Debbie.

Ultimate Twice Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2003
Holy cow this recipe was time consuming---not for the working women! A baked potatoe with all the fixings would have been just as good. They were good but not worth the time!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2003
I have used alot of banana cake, muffin and/or bread recipes---this is the best all of them! I used 2 bananas and 1/3 cup applesauce(only had two bananas)and these muffins turned out great---light and fluffy.

Whipped Cream Frosting

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2003
Tastes great but does not stand up as a frosting. I used this recipe as a topping on individual banna cake servings. You will be disappointed if you intend to frost a cake with this recipe.

Slovak Stuffed Cabbage

Too salty and too much animal fat. I added no water and the sauce was still was watery. The meat mixture was bland. Sorry I do not understand all the 5 star ratings on this one!
