Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2007
I USED CANNED SAN MARZANO TOMATOES (ANY ITALIAN STORE), THEY COST ALOT MORE BUT I ASSURE YOU THAT YOU WILL DIFINETLY TASTE THE DIFFERENCE IF YOU USE THESE IN ANY SPAGETTI SAUCE. ALSO ADDED SOME ITALIAN SAUSAGE SEASONING. THIS WS AN VERY EASY RECIPIE TO MAKE. YOU WILL FIND IT VERY HARD TO USE SAUCE FROM A JAR AGAIN!

Linda's Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2006
I made this for a crowd Christmas Eve. I thought it was terrible even after trying to kick it up a knotch with additional spices and meat. I used top of the line ingredigents. Very disappointing. I should know by experience not to trust ratings esp on a holiday! Some one said it tasted like Stouffers Lasagna---and it did! Save your self the trouble and buy Stouffers. I am sorry but stouffers is not my idea of good lasagne---just a quick cheap substitute in a pinch.

Spinach Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2006
very good. I would use less garlic and onion next time though---cut them in half! although very good as is ---you can count on having bad breath for at least a week after eating this! If you plan on getting close to anyone make sure they eat this delicious salad too!

Cooky Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2006
The best cookie ever! Be sure to flatten them with a glass. Cool cookie for about 5 minutes before handling, they a a little fragile when they are still warm. I made these for a baby shower and added a cup of buttersotch morsels and everyone said they were the best cookie they ever tasted (cut back a little on the sugar if you do this.

Roasted Sweet Potatoes & Onions

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2006
Easy and very good. I did not peal the potatoes. I used Enova oil instead of olive oil. Next time I will use chicken broth instead of the Amaretta--it made it a little to sweet for my taste. The toasted almonds really made this special. I can not wait to eat the left overs tonight!

Baked Ziti III

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2005
I must say this is the best and easiest ziti I ever made. I used ground chicken and also used dried basil because that is what I had on hand. Next time I will use fresh basil. I mixed the sour cream into the sauce and then mixed it into the pasta---things are distributedbetter this way. Layered cheeses.

Tex-Mex Grilled Corn Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2005
Great! Low cal too. Unless you really like hot reduce the chipotle powder in half. I have also made this with chile powder instead of the chipotle and I prefer the chile powder.Absolutley everyone asks for the recipe when I make this. Easy too!

Calico Squash Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2005
Used stove top dressing inside of crackers. Omitted the sage.Reduced butter by half. Used liquid from veggies to moisten the dressing. Used low fat cheese. I thought it was great. Next time I will try the crackers but frankly all the fat in the crackers and butter is a llittle scary!

Tennessee Eggs

Good. Used no fat half and half instead of cream. Tasted like hot egg salad. A shredded cheese topping difinitely would make this more interesting.

Cherry Chicken Salad

Perfect. Used cranberrys inside of cherries, used walnuts inside of pecans---because this is what I had on hand. I ate the whole thing (not at one sitting of course)! Can not wait to make this again.

Award Winning Peaches and Cream Pie

Reviewed: May 9, 2005
Made this is a spring form pan. Doubled the peaches and cream cheese mixtures only. Garnished with strawberrys and served this on pedestal cake plate. Served at at Mother's Day brunch and everyone claimed to loved it. Presentation was very nice---do not know why every one is complaining about the appearance of this dessert. More like a cheese cake.

Swedish Cardamom Meatballs

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2005
There is no question in my mind that 1/2 cup sugar is a typo error, try 1T or less. I used only 1/2 cup butter in the total recipe and used 2 cans evaporated skim milk instead of cream. Also, added mushrooms.I personally loved the blend of spices in this recipe. Do make this if you do not have time for kitchen clean up.

Texas Sheet Cake V

Delicous! The calories in this cake are unspeakable. I made a large layered birthday cake(doubled the recipe) for my beautiful grandaughter and everyone loved it. I bet I'll be asked to make this every year here after. Do not forget to add the vanilla which is not mentioned in the list of ingredients but is required in the frosting---I used 1t.

Judy's Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2004
This is most certainly not a "salad" or a "jello mold", nothing that resembles low cal here! This is truly a delicious cheese cake dessert. Next time I will make this with less sugar, butter and low fat cool whip and cream cheese---I do not think these changes would hurt the recipe at all.
