Creamy Tomato-PHILLY Baked Rigatoni

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2010
Not one person at the table liked this dish. I rarely write reviews of a recipe if I give it less than 4 stars but this one was seriously disappointing!

This was an excellent salmon recipe! My new "go to" marinade. Used maple planks. Followed the recipe exactly.

Pumpkin Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
This was a big hit with the family. I wasn't sure if it would be more like pecan pie or pumpkin pie but the consistency is definitely more like pumpkin pie.

Strawberry Ginger Jam

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2010
Loved this recipe. Added 1.5T fresh grated ginger for a little something different. The flavor contrast of the sweet strawberry with the the spicy ginger produces a really special end result.

Burgundy Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2010
This recipe was just not that great. As a professional chef, I rarely follow the recipes exactly but I did this time, with the exception of adding fresh garlic instead of garlic salt. First off, the meat really needs to be seared in olive oil if only for the eye appeal. Otherwise, it looks like a big purple glob of meat. Second, the gravy mix must be brought to a boil or it will not thicken. You can't just dump in the mix and stir. Finally, I have to believe the brand of gravy mix used makes a big difference since so many people like this dish. I used a brand called Simply Organic.. bad aftertaste. I would try this dish again making the sauce with the wine/pan juices, chicken stock and a little demi (you can buy jars of it at Sur La Table...adds a lot of depth to sauces.) Bottom line..this is easy to make and it tastes that way. It has potential though...

Vinegar Pie VI

I tried this out of curiousity but it was really good. I followed the recipe exactly and it came out perfect. Had the consistency of a custard pie. Was slightly tangy and very rich. Would definitely make again.

This bread was good, however, the rosemary was a bit overpowering for my taste. Everyone else at the table liked it.

Cracker Candy

So easy! I didn't have brown sugar so I added molasses to granulated sugar (1/8C to 1C sugar). I used semi sweet chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, and toffee bits.

Italian Pork Tenderloin

This tastes like it is much more difficult to make than it is. Very easy and really good. I added flour at the end to thicken the sauce, otherwise followed directions exactly. Would serve with pasta or mashed potatoes.

Quinoa with Mushrooms

I thought this was good. Not the most delicious quinoa recipe but a good dish to make and have in the fridge if you're trying to eat healthy. A little salt and pepper really add a lot to the flavor.

Burrito Pie

This was a big hit. I used ground turkey and 2% colby jack to make it healthier. I also added a packet of taco seasoning to the turkey as I browned it and added sour cream when serving.
