Berry Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2010
I eat this combination of berries "ALL THE TIME"!! The only change I make is to add Red Grapes to the mixture and I use Splenda instead of sugar. This is a staple in my house and commonly eaten for breakfast, lunch and/or as an accompaniment with dinner. Yum

Hawaiian Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2003
Both my husband and I LOVED these kabobs. I added red and green peppers, onions and mushrooms. I marinated the chicken about 3 hours and all the rest (except onions and pineapple) about 1-1/2 hours. I took the other reviews seriously and didn't marinate the pineapple. We basted the kabobs 3-4 times while grilling with left-over sauce. They were wonderful and I will definitely make them again.

Golden Baked Acorn Squash

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2005
I fixed this for Christmas dinner. Although I'm not a big squash lover, I have to admit, this was very tasty. My mom, dad and husband "loved" it and my dad even asked for the recipe. I followed the directions to the letter and wouldn't suggest changing anything. I'll fix this again.

Strawberry Spinach Salad I

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2005
I LOVE this salad. It's easy to make and tastes wonderful. I orginally made it for a party, but my husband and I enjoyed the leftovers for many days after. (I kept the dressing in a separate bowl so the salad wouldn't get soggy). It was very refreshing and I'll definitely make it again.

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2005
This was the most wonderful, flavorful, delicious dressing I've ever had. I can't say enough good things about it. It was a hit for Thanksgiving and my sister took the recipe back to Michigan and fixed it for Christmas for the rest of my family members. Most of them "raved" about how great it tasted... of course you can't please everyone. I will definitely make this again.

Baked Fish with Shrimp

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2003
I loved this recipe. I used Halibut steaks and added shredded crab meat on top with the shrimp. Otherwise I followed the recipe to the letter. I don't normally care for fish, but this had so many other flavors, it was enjoyable to eat. My husband said he liked it somewhat, but in reality didn't care much for the "white sauce" and would have preferred it without. Two different opinions at the same dinner table.

Weeknight Chicken Cordon Bleu

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2003
Another hit at my house! These were very simple to make. My only complaint -- might actually be my own fault. I don't think I pounded the chicken breasts "thin" enough. They didn't roll up well and ham and cheese was sticking out. Otherwise, they tasted great, even warmed up the next day. Wonderful! I'll definitely make them again.

Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2003
I made these last night and they turned out pretty good. The pork chops by themselves weren't very flavorful, but the apples and sauce really made the difference. After reading other reviews, I changed the recipe slightly. I doubled the chopped onion, I used apple juice instead of water, I used 4 tablespoons of brown sugar and added 1/8 tsp of cinnamon to the other spices. The flavor was perfect. I hope they're even better warmed up tonight!

Broiled Herb Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2003
This recipe was very easy to prepare, tasted wonderful and my husband loved it! I would have given it 5-stars, but my only complaint is the "butter" (or margarine). It tasted greasy to me. If I make it again, I will use something else. I don't know what exactly, maybe low fat yogurt or something. Any suggestions?

Apple Raisin French Toast Strata

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2005
I made this for company. Although it went over "pretty" well, it was almost too soggy and sweet. The leftovers were not eaten so the time, effort and expense weren't really worth it. If I make it again, I will definitely make a smaller portion to avoid leftovers. I don't know what to do about correcting the soggy part.
