Easy Sausage Cheese Balls

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2013
I agree with the other reviewers who stated that there is too much baking mix. My mom makes these and I should have called her for the measurements. I followed another review who said to use two cups of baking mix, two cups of cheese and a lb of sausage. Even that was too much mix. Next time, I will use only a cup of baking mix and definitely sharp cheddar (I only had regular). I don't see why you need to precook the sausage; I didn't have a problem.

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2013
We just tok the kids to the orchard to pick peaches. Decided to make a cobbler at husband's request and found this recipe. The ONLY addition was a tablespoon of honey that I added to the peach filling, otherwise, I made it exactly as stated and it came out great! I have no idea why someone said it was too dry. Ours was very juicy with some to spare. Maybe use very ripe peaches? Husband went back for seconds and thirds! Awesome recipe!

Sausage and Egg Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
Great recipe! I used maple-flavored sausage and sauteed chopped onion in a tablespoon of melted butter and added to casserole. It tasted wonderful. I prepped this in the morning and made it for dinner. I needed to add 10 minutes to the cook time in order for it to really firm up but I will definitely make this again. Might add some chopped bacon since hubby LOVES it.

Easy Grilled Chicken Teriyaki

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2009
I think this would have been awesome but I made a crucial error which I hope to remedy next time. I marinated drumsticks overnight but I didn't have a plastic bag big enough so I stuck them in a pan. This really didn't allow them to properly marinate so even though they were SUPER tender off the grill, they weren't as flavorful as I had hoped. However, to the person who suggested stir-frying the leftover marinade with noodles was genius! The noodles were so delicious! I will definitely make this again because of how good the noodles were, but I will try boneless breasts and use a plastic bag!!

Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2007
I am currently five months pregnant but it seems that my husband is the one with all the cravings! He requested a pecan pie the other day so I made this recipe for him while he was out. First, I don't eat pecan pie, second I don't know what it is supposed to taste like and third, I've never made one before! I followed the recipe exactly however I did combine the corn starch and water first as suggested by another reviewer. It came out perfect. In fact, after letting it rest for four hours or so, the pie held up in perfect slices despite some reviews that said to the contrary. Oh, and my husband LOVED it! I will definitely make this again.

Magic Cookie Bars I

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2007
These are rich and delicious and better yet, easy to make. I did change a few things. First I crushed Oreo cookies in the food processor until there was enough for three cups. I mix the crumbs with half a cup of melted butter and pressed firmly into the bottom of the pan. As suggested, I spread half of the sweetened condensed milk on the crumbs and then added the toppings. I used chopped walnuts, chocolate chips, white chocolate chips and a little bit of coconut (normally I hate coconut but it tastes nice in this recipe). I spread the remainder of the milk once the toppings were in place and baked at 350 for almost twenty minutes. I added additional chips once I pulled the bars from the over for a nicer presentation. Even though my husband was desperate to eat some, I waited for at least 40 minutes before cutting the bars. They were amazing!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2005
Wow! These really were fantastic! I made a few alterations just to personalize it but it came out awesome. I added a splash of vanilla extract to the muffin batter and substituted brown sugar for the white sugar in the topping (this helped it to stick better to the muffin since the brown sugar and butter caramelized together in the oven). Super recipe!

Great recipe! Very easy to assemble and bakes in no time. I used shredded mozzarella and added some sun dried tomato and basil feta cheese as well as slices of roma tomatoes.

Balsamic-Glazed Salmon Fillets

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2005
Very easy and tasty salmon recipe - I was a little nervous because the glaze had a very powerful vinegar smell but it turned out just fine.

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: May 4, 2005
Excellent pork chop recipe! I never make pork, but bought some chops earlier this week and figured it was time to try out some recipes. My only criticism of this recipe was that my pork chops didn't come out as moist as described by all the other posts. I also made a few changes; I omitted the seasoning salt (didn't have it, wasn't an issue), used cream of chicken (again, didn't have cream of mushroom) and added a can of green beans. Even with the adjustments, it was still delicious! My boyfriend was totally wowed and must have said "this is very good" about four times during dinner. I will make this again!

Spicy Rapid Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2005
Thank you, thank you, thank you Nancy! This recipe restored my faith in roast chicken (and my boyfriend's, who has endured multiple roast chicken fiascos before bravely vowing to give it one more try). I followed the recipe except I used Tony Chachere's Original Creole Seasonings in place of the cayenne and paprika. I was so pleased with the results (super tasty and crispy skin!) and my boyfriend agreed that this was fantastic. Thanks again!

Cabbage Roll Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2004
I was surprised at how well this recipe came out. My mother and I have been making golabki (cabbage rolls) together for awhile and this was a great way to use all the same ingredients without the hassle of filling and rolling each individual cabbage leaf. My aunt also makes this time-saving version and calls it "dirty golabki". I cut the recipe in half and further cut the cabbage portion only because I'm not a huge fan of cabbage. I also used tomato soup (as my mother does) and it came out great!

Make Ahead Manicotti

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2004
My fiance and I both loved this recipe; the ricotta stuffing is especially flavorful as pointed out by my finace who said he is used to bland fillings. Tips: I would definitely use the plastic bag idea since stuffing the manicotti is the only tricky part of the recipe. I also used a lot of pasta sauce as suggested by others so there was no problem with it sticking. I also added some minced garlic to the ricotta filling and sprinkled additional parmesan and mozzarella on the manicotti during the last fifteen minutes of baking. Definitely a keeper!!

Artichoke Spinach Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2004
My friend found this recipe on Allrecipes and made it for us twice! It is so easy and so yummy and so perfect for a crowd of people! One of my grad school professors has us take turns bringing in snacks for the class; I made this dip and cut up some celery, carrots and broccoli and everything was GONE by the end of the class. My boyfriend insisted that I leave some home for him. This recipe makes ALOT!

Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2004
This was a great recipe! Very hearty and reminded me of my mother's minestrone. I did double the chicken broth and eliminate the water. I also increased the red wine to 1/2 cup. I tend to like my soup a little more soupy so I cut back on the vegetable portions and used broken spaghetti in place of the seashell pasta (I put the dry spaghetti directly into the soup while it was simmering so it could soak up the flavors as well).

Peanut Butter Pie I

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2003
So good that we made and ate two pies in two days. I added melted chocolate chips to the bottom of the pie as other reviewers suggested, but despite the extra sugar rush, it only made it difficult to cut the pie in even slices so I won't do that next time. I did however drizzle chocolate syrup on top for visual appeal and will continue to do so - very pretty. Two thumbs up!

Basil Chicken and Pasta

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2003
What a recipe! I took the advice of most of the other reviewers and doubled the heavy cream. I also added chopped roasted red peppers to the sauce to give it a kick . . .YUM!!
