Bircher Muesli (Swiss Oatmeal)

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2013
I like to mix it up without bananas, but add them, along with some fresh berries or peaches, freshly each morning...I agree that it needs no extra sweeteners, the fruits do the trick! I first ate this dish on a morning after camping, we went to this little bakery and they were out of everything except birker muesli...which none of us had ever heard of,we were dubious....but EVER SO GLAD that we tried it! One of my most memorable breakfasts ever!

Cherry Cream Cheese Dump Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2014
AngieK, thank you so much for this DELICIOUS, super easy dessert!! I just pulled it out of the oven and could hardly wait for it to cool sufficiently to cut a piece! I used a metal pan and the only change I made was to cook it for one hour plus fifteen minutes. Next time I will use a scant bit less sugar in the cream cheese, 3/4 cup, just because i like things a little less sweet. This was awesome with a cup of coffee and would be divine with ice cream, thanks again! I will be trying this with peach and with blackberry fillings as well. Just wanted to add another note...this is two months later and I have made this with various fillings, Apple is very good and Blackberry was the very best! I have cut the sugar in the cheese back to 1/2 cup. White cake mix is good as well. Thanks so much for a new favorite pantry recipe!

These are a great favorite at our house for christmas as well. For a tasty surprise, form the dough around a hershey kiss or rolo caramel..that is how we make them!

Sweet Potato Pound Cake

I just made this and it is delicious, very moist and perfectly spiced! I did use cake flour, and added a tsp. Orange peel and a tsp orange extract to the batter. Left it unglazed, it doesnt really need it.

Salisbury Steak with Mushrooms

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2014
Comfort food at its very finest! The only thing I did different was add a heaping tablespoon of minced garlic to the gravy, then cook it all in the crockpot on low for three or four hours.

Sweet Onion Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2014
This is awesome with bbq of any sort, rich and savory-a small slice goes a long way. Used smoked gouda and swiss cheeses this time, it is open for variation- bacon, other veg, especially a bit of red pepper or some steamed broccoli would take it an entirely different direction as would varying the cheeses used. Very good recipe! Thanks for sharing.

Slow Cooker Posole with Pork and Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2014
This was really good, though i had no chipotles and, instead, used a 16 oz. Jar of Mazetti's roasted green chiles with lime and cilantro. Like a cross between NM green chile stew and traditional posole, yumm!!

These were perfect in my opinion, buttery, crisp edges and chewy middles. With Ghirardelli big chips they were divine!

Chocolatey and tasty, though I prefer a more chewy, fudgey brownie. This is a great way to use excess zuchinni!

This was delicious but did not set up very well. Not sure if I didn't cook it long enough or if it needs less water?
