Chef John's Buttermilk Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2012
Absolutely delicious! I marinated my chicken for about 8 hours and thought maybe the heat could have been a bit lower as it browned a bit too quickly, but YUM! This is just the best, crispiest, fried chicken ever! Thanks for the great recipe.

Delectable Marinated Chicken

Reviewed: May 24, 2012
This was awesome; we loved it and will make it again and again! I was a bit worried about the liquid smoke, but added it anyway - then I marinated the chicken overnight and it was so good! Thanks for the great recipe!

Sausage Stuffing

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2013
I am giving this five stars as it is very close to the stuffing I make for my family. The only changes I make is to add mild Italian sausage (casings removed) and I use the drippings from the sausage, no additional butter (or very little). I like to dry out my bread cubes as well. Then I also add sage, parsley, and thyme as well as the poultry seasoning. I add to taste and have never measured it. When you put any additional stuffing into a casserole dish, place the neck of the turkey on top and then cover with foil. This will keep your stuffing moist and then you can mix that with the stuffing from the turkey. Yum, yum, yum - we love it!

Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Reviewed: May 6, 2012
These are very good and moist. I found the chocolate chips made them a bit too sweet for my taste, I would substitute nuts the next time I make them but I will definitely make them again. ***Update*** I did make these again using about 1/2 cup of chopped pecans in place of the chocolate chips and they were awesome.

Roast Beef Burritos

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2012
This was awesome! Like another reviewer, I used salsa in place of the tomatoes and taco sauce, then used part of the cheese inside, wrapped and topped with remaining cheese, baked for 15 min at 350 degrees to crisp up a bit. Other than that, I followed the recipe to a T. Garnished with sour cream and shredded lettuce. Very good and a great way to use up left over roast beef.

Salmon and Spinach Fettuccine

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2012
I also tried this with pan fried chicken, very good. When i tried it with the smoked salmon, I put in too much salmon and it was a bit overpowering. Otherwise an amazing recipe.

Peppered Shrimp Alfredo

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2012
This was very good and so easy, too! I did find the cayenne a bit overpowering, though, and would only add 1/2 tsp. in the future. Otherwise this was an exceptional dish and we will definitely make it again!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2012
These are awesome. I doubled the recipe EXCEPT for the topping and there was still plenty of topping. My son said that they are the best muffins I have ever made! I have also made them with strawberries, very good also.

Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2012
Frozen veggies? No way. The best part (or one of them) of this recipe is the mashed carrots below the cheesy mashed potatoes. Simply scrumptious. Yum! Thanks for the great recipe.

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2013
I decided to try this as I had all of the ingredients on hand and it looked fairly easy to prepare. Only change I made was that I used brown sugar (about 3 TBS.) and used garlic cloves (2) in place of the garlic powder. This turned out so tender and YUMMY! Next time I think I will add some carrots and baby potatoes to the crock pot for a one pan meal! Thanks for the awesome recipe.

Alyson's Broccoli Salad

Yum! I did add the raisins as I didn't have any grapes on hand. It was a huge hit. Thanks for the recipe.

Strawberry and Spinach Salad with Honey Balsamic Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2013
Amazing, simply amazing! Only thing I changed was to roast the pecans, as another reviewer suggested, I added a bit of thinly sliced red onion rings as well and substituted Goat cheese for the Gorgonzola. Next time I am going to top with a grilled chicken breast and call it dinner. Both my partner and I loved it! Thanks for the great recipe.

Red Velvet Cake

This recipe was awesome, the cake was so light and fluffy. My neighbour said I should open a bakery this cake was so good! I used the icing recipe from Red Velvet Cake II for this cake.

Bacon Wrapped Pork Medallions

This recipe is so good and is simple to prepare. Not to mention, only one dirty pan! It looks and tastes like a much more complicated dish. Thanks for the great recipe.

Black Bean Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2012
This is absolutely delicious. The only changes I made is I added 1 19 oz. can of black beans (rinsed) and 1 15 oz. can of corn. I didn't measure the cilantro so it may have been a bit shy of a cup and I added fresh garlic instead of garlic salt. Everything else I followed exactly and this salad is amazing! Thanks for sharing it!

Hamburger Quiche

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2012
This was too bland, but I agree with another reviewer that it had the potential to be amazing. I added the liquid smoke, but would omit it next time or cut it in half. I added real bacon bits and I would also make my own grated potatoes next time and try spicing that up as well. I just feel like this recipe has great potential but something was missing. My husband ate his with salsa and said that spiced it up nicely.

Tangy Sirloin Strips

Reviewed: May 23, 2012
This was absolutely excellent! I had about 1.5 - 2 lbs. of sirloin and followed the marinade recipe exactly (it was enough) and marinated overnight. I omitted the bacon and put onto skewers and cooked in a 350 oven for about 20 min. (they were medium rare). I had to adjust the glaze slightly for what i had on hand (more bbq sauce and only about 1/4 cup montreal steak sauce). I agree with other who said that 1/2 the glaze recipe would be more than ample. Regardless, this recipe is the bomb! The steak was so tender and good, we will definitely be having it again!

Baked BBQ Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2014
I have made these twice: once followed the instructions exactly and cooked them in the oven. The other time I did the final cooking on the bbq. Both times they were absolutely fantastic. I did do the first cook in the oven for probably closer to three hours and they still held together beautifully on the barbeque.

Spicy Honey Mustard Pork Roast

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2014
Excellent! After reading some reviews I cut the pepper back to about 2 tsp. but would probably increase that to at least 1 Tbs. next time. I put just a little water in the bottom of the pan and roasted with some baby potatoes, about 1 and a half hours at 350 for a roast under two pounds. It got rave reviews.
