Just Like Wendy's® Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2014
The first time EVER my husband said he loved a chili I made- and he said it twice! It's pretty darn close to Wendy's flavor and consistency. My only regret was that I cut the recipe in half since I was only cooking for three and I wasn't sure if it would turn out well. Cutting it in half also wastes the canned ingredients as you use half a can of everything. Next time I will make the 10-serving batch and freeze the leftovers- frozen chili sets up so well it will be even better!

Strawberry Cake II

Cake has a good flavor. Wasn't a fan of the icing so I made cream cheese frosting which complimented it well.

The sauce was excellent. Next time will grill or bake fish to save calories and time.

Harvest Apple Cider

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2010
I don't know what I did wrong... it just tasted like warmed pineapple juice. I had even added an extra clove and cinnamon stick but it still had no spiced cider taste. Won't make again.

Brown Sugar Smokies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2010
A broiling pan would be very helpful, esp. if you are making this for a get-together. Good recipe, went over well. I inserted toothpicks into each and removed them just prior to serving for better presentation. Assembled the night before and covered them in brown sugar but sugar didn't adhere, so I did what others recommended and applied brown sugar to bacon wrap before wrapping. Made a big difference.

Delicious Southern Cornbread

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
Of all times for me to go on a low carb diet! My husband loved this recipe! Will make again. Instead of using oil and then mixing it in the batter, I did what my mom does. I take bacon grease (I know) and heat it in the skillet. Then I slowly add the mixed batter to the skillet. If you pour slowly it will push the oil out and really make the edge of the crust crispy.

Caramel Apple Pork Chops

SO great and made the house smell wonderful! Took someone's advise and doubled the sauce recipe and baked the chops at 350 for 45 minutes. Very tender and juicy!

Peanut Butter Vegetable Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2009
THE best recipe I've tried in a long time! I'm telling you, it was great! I only had crunchy peanut butter and it was great with it (not sure if the peanuts will be soggy in tomorrow's leftovers) but I'm sure it'll still taste great. I added quartered mushrooms which soaked in the flavor.

Baked Beans II

A little runny so next time I won't add as much ketchup. Also, I recommend cutting each slice of bacon into 3 pieces so it makes serving much easier.

Michelle's Coconut Chicken Curry

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
I searched for a recipe with coconut milk and chicken and was glad to see cauliflower was in this recipe since I had bought a head the other day. I followed the recipe exactly and would recommend more salt and pepper. Since there was chopped garlic in it and the stock is salty, I went easy on table salt but next time I will add more. Hubby loved it!

Very good and easy. I made with Russets and they were still wonderful. My hubby even thought they were fried!

Pretty good. I used a can of regular cut green beans and they didn't taste canned. Will make again!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2009
I thought I already had a killer recipe but when I wanted potato soup I didn't have all the ingredients (cream cheese, cream of mushroom soup, etc). Took a chance on this and it was just as good and less fattening! I didn't have enough ham so I added some bacon bits and yum!

Watermelon Pops

Reviewed: May 31, 2009
Cute idea but not worth it. First, you need to make sure your strawberry jello is set enough to add the chips so they don't all sink but more importantly, so your whipped cream mixture will not sink. Make sure the whipped cream is spread even across the red before adding the green. If any of the whipped cream mixture is exposed when you freeze it, it will have that yucky rubbery texture. You also need to make sure that you wipe the cup clean after the cream mixture or else it'll look sloppy. Perhaps it was me but only a few of the cups came out right. I won't make it again but kudos to those of you who made it work!
