Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2012
Tried three different recipes and this was the one most liked by the tasters. May try a little less brown sugar and mustard to see if I personally like it better.

Swedish Toscas (Swedish Almond Tarts)

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2012
Love it. Definitely doesn't make enough. I usually 1/2 again the filling. Have used slivered and sliced almonds - both equally good. Even better to add a bit of almond extract. Also, add maybe a teaspoon or so of water to the dough until it forms a ball. Easier to work with and doesn't seem to change the texture.

Yeast Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2012
Liked them better with more sugar and a bit of vanilla, but very good. Didn't let the batter sit long enough but still very good.

Blueberry Crumb Bars

Made exactly as written. Just fine. Will try at some point with butter and maybe some sliced almonds on the top.

Spinach Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2012
Sauteed onion in bacon fat, added chopped fresh spinach and cooked until wilted. Added 1 tsp garlic and used half the butter called for. Could have used less. Good warm or cold. Has such great possibilities as a base for more involved apps also, but so good as is. Next time will try adding feta, sauteed mushrooms. Maybe even some chopped cooked chicken and sundried tomatoes for a really substantial appetizer.

Melt - In - Your - Mouth Shortbread

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2012
Great texture and beautiful when piped from a pastry bag. The floury taste wasn't to our liking, but I may play with it a bit to see if we could modify it for ourselves because I really liked the meltiness.

Simple Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2012
Way too much soy sauce. Overpowers the other flavors. Might be very good with a lot less soy sauce. May try again.
