About this Cook
I'm retired and now have time to spend in the kitchen. I have taken several cooking classes that have helped me enormously.
My favorite things to cook
I love Mexican food and can follow directions, so..... I experiment quite a bit. Unfortunately, I'm the only one who like Mexican food (DH only likes Taco Bell)
My favorite family cooking traditions
When my mother was alive, we would make Zagareliai or Krustai (a light, fried pastry covered with powder sugar- a Lithuanian tradition ) for Christmas.
My cooking triumphs
I actually made a Chinese dish that was better than what we had in a restaurant.
My cooking tragedies
I lost the above recipe!

Italian Vegetable Soup
I made this almost exactly as written and it was fantastic. We truly enjoyed this soup- for several days as a matter of fact. The only difference I made was that I boiled the pasta separately and added to the individual bowls to keep it from absorbing all of the wonderful broth. This is definitely on the rotation!!!! Thanks you for a great recipe!

Mendi's Favorite Orzo
This was my first orzo attempt and it was delicious. I did not deviate from the recipe. Thanks!!

Strawberry Rhubarb Sauce
This sauce is so good that it has become a Sunday morning breakfast tradition over waffles.
