This was my first attempt at a pie and I think it turned out perfectly. I followed the recipe exactly. I did the lattice top, which I thought was super easy, but looks like a lot of work. It looked so pretty when it came out of the oven. I used about 8 small Golden Delicious apples, thinly sliced. They were perfectly tender after baking it exactly as the recipe suggests. After reading reviews, I agree that vanilla and cinnamon would make it even better. I will add them for my pie on Thanksgiving. Otherwise, I was very pleased with it.
