Five Flavor Pound Cake I

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2012
This cake is AMAZING!! Took it to my mom's Easter Sunday and my husband renamed it the Evil Addiction Cake! Only change I made was swapping out the butter extract for almond (to clone a local baker's flavors), and omitted the glaze. It is perfect without the glaze! Not too sweet or heavy, and SUPERMOIST. I used my Kitchen Aid and let it beat the fool out of the batter. I only needed 80 min of bake time. My husband already asked for me to bake another one, and he just finished the last of it this morning!

Chocolate Mousse

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2008
This recipe was incredibly easy and delicious! I had to double the recipe to have enough for four, and I put it on top of dark chocolate cake topped with sweetened fresh whipping cream, and chopped almonds. I could not wipe the grin from my hubby's face!

Ground Beef Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2007
I had wanted to make Shepherd's Pie from scratch, but did not care for most of the recipes I saw. This is a GREAT basic recipe! I did omit the tomato, seasoned the ground beef with house seasoning and parsely, and added a can of cream of mushroom soup. I also omited the water in the potatoes, using butter and milk instead. I also added the cheese to the potatoes and dabbed butter on the top to help brown. everyone loved it! My teenage son had 3 bowls, and his girlfriend had two. The leftovers did not make it 24 hours in the fridge!

Pancake Stack with Syrup

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2007
I ran out of my pancake mix, and of course my 5 year old wanted pancakes. I wanted something fast and simple. This was a great simple recipe! I did decrease to 2 tsp. baking powder as many suggested, and added 1 tsp vanilla. They were great! It was the ease of panacake mix with the benefit of being homemade! I will no longer use the yellow box!

What a fantastic recipe. It was super easy, and a hit at my family get together. I had to give away my copy of the recipe! The crunch from the water chesnuts is amazing, and I did use fresh spinach chopped very fine. Fabulous!
