Day Before Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2003
These were the best mashed potatoes we have ever had. You don't have to add anything to them to warm them up the next day. I will make these all the time from now on.

Chicken Milano

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2003
One of my husband's favorites. I used bow tie pasta instead of fettucine and it was nice. I think that it held the sauce well. I do agree about making more sauce though.

Butterhorn Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2003
Outstanding. I was very nervous with these because I had never made bread from scratch (without my bread maker). The recipe was fool proof and the results were outstanding. I ended up making my rolls a little too large, so I just cut some of them in half, and it worked out fine.

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2003
I cooked mine too long. 8 hours in the crock pot is way too long. I tasted them at about four hours, and they were perfect. I wouldn't recommend cooking them so long because they were definitely overdone. I will cook them again because the seasoning was outstanding.

The World's Best Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2003
This is the best turkey my husband ever ate! I didn't put foil on top and it got brown very quickly. So I added the foil at about 30 minutes into cooking and didn't need to take it off at all the rest of the time. Keep in mind that there is a lot of liquid and if you don't have a large enough roasting pan, the champagne will spill out over the sides (in the bag of course). Next time I am going to try it upside down.

Drip Beef Sandwiches

Very, very good. We made burritos with the meat, and it tasted just like Chipolte!

Little Meat Loaves

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2003
Very good. My husband doesn't eat onions, so I used some onion powder, and it was still fantastic.

Gramma's Apple Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2003
How can you not love this recipe!? I have tried it a few times, and each time I have made a different serving amount with a different size baking dish. One time, I refrigerated the pudding before I put it in the oven. I didn't think it tasted as good. I also used a thinner pan and it made the pudding a little crustier. I think it is all preference. The recipe calls for way too much butter at the end, but my husband seemed to like that one the best.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2004
This is a really great and easy soup. I used skim milk and 1/3 reduced fat margarine, and you couldn't even tell the difference. I have made this a couple of times, and this last time I added a couple of dashes of white pepper. It added just the right amount of kick. My husband was even able to tell that something was different. Definitely one of his favorites that I make.

Sour Cream Apple Pie I

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2008
Loved it! I added blueberries to the pie and it added a nice touch. Also, I added some brown sugar to the top in addition to the white sugar.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2009
So I came across this recipe about 1 month ago. I didn't save it and worked off the computer. This was ABSOLUTELY the best banana bread ever. I searched to find this again and it will be one I always turn to.

Beet Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2008
Actually, this is pretty good cake. I made a round triple layer cake with cream cheese frosting. I added a little more chocolate chips and added some throughout the mix whole. Everyone loved it until I told them what was in it, then they all continued to eat it a little wary...trying to taste the beets. But even my husband loved it. I think that it is even moister and better the second day. My recommendation...don't tell anyone what is in it!!! They will LOVE it!

Wild Rice And Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2003
I think I need to make this again. Whatever you do, don't use white rice. It makes the soup really doughy, so I had to add water, and then it reduced the seasoning taste. I can definitely see how it has potential though.
