I'm 27, married to a wonderful man, and have been cooking since I was at least twelve. I grew up cooking for a family of six, so adjusting my cooking for just two of us has been a challenge.. Let's just say that we have leftovers, A LOT, so it's a good thing hubby LOVES leftovers.

My favorite family cooking traditions
Making holiday meals with my father. Dad taught me how to cook American foods, as Mom is Filipina. She knows how to make American food, but she still has an Asian-centric set of taste buds, so it all has an interesting slant to it. LOL! So, big holiday meals were up to me and Dad.
My cooking triumphs
I have a cooking triumph every time hubby can eat something without being ill right away. He has ulcerative colitis, so we're constantly have to modify recipes to accomodate his unique dietary needs.
My cooking tragedies
I can't say that I've had any real cooking tragedies. Sure, I've made meals that I wouldn't make again, or tried a couple of ingredients together that maybe shouldn't have gone together, but nothing that's ruined our meals.

No Ordinary Meatloaf
I make meatloaf because my husband loves it - I'm not at all a meatloaf fan. That said, this was awesome! I made it according to the recipe, and it came out perfectly. The only change I would make in the future is to use petite diced tomatoes next time, since the larger diced tomatoes kept coming across as a weird texture change for me.

Sausage and Apple Breakfast Casserole
This was all right. As other reviewers have said, this was a very bread-heavy meal. I personally did not use the Sausage Crumbles, as I had a one pound tube of sausage in the freezer, and used this instead. If I were to remake the recipe, I would likely do the same, though I'd pick a more seasoned sausage. I would also replace the apples with a more strongly flavored apple, like Granny Smiths. The Golden Delicious apples just disappeared into this recipe. I'd also cut the bread by at least one cup, adding more apple and cinnamon. Overall, a decent recipe, but not something I would make again. It wasn't work dirtying so many dishes over.

Unfortunately, I have to disagree with the largely positive reviews on this recipe. I had to make a few alterations based on what was to hand and other reviews - sauteeing the onion in olive oil rather than butter and adding minced garlic and white pepper. Before I even got this out of the pot, and onto a plate, I didn't want to eat it. It smelled and looked unappealing.
