Grilled Asian Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2006
Very good! I use this all the time when I need a last minute meal. I use my George Foreman grill and baste it occasionally, and it's ready in minutes. I LOVE the flavor and aroma of this dish - but best of all, the easy prep:) THANKS!

Dog Treats I

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2007
Recipe was pretty easy, and a good consistency to work with. I made gifts for all my dog loving friends and used christmas cookie cutters. Came out good and everyone said their dogs loved them and begged for more :)

Ultimate Twice Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2006
oh my goodness... DELICIOUS!!! these are a great way to kick up your baked potatoes. They taste like they came from a restaurant... or maybe even better!! The only thing I did differently was I coated the potatoes with olive oil and kosher salt before baking them to give the skin a little crispiness and saltiness. Otherwise, PERFECT. this is my third day eating it alone for lunch! Thanks!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2006
This was a really good base recipe. I gave it a four because I made so many changes using tips from other raters: 1) pre-baked the bottom crust brushed with egg whites for 7 minutes 2) only cooked the vegetables in the chicken broth and added potatoes 3)cooked the chicken in the butter with the onion 4) added minced garlic, parsely, thyme and garlic powder 5) brushed the top crust with egg whites also... make sure to seal the two crusts well because it overflowed! This is a little messy to serve, so I would suggest cooling it for longer than the recommended 10 minutes so that the pie can come together. After all that, thanks for the recipe because I've always wanted to make chicken pot pie!

Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breast

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2006
I don't know why, but this came out tasting a little funny. Then I realized it might have been because I accidentally used a maple bacon which made it taste kind of sweet; didn't really mix well with the spinach and sourcream. Anyways, maybe will try again paying more attention to what kind of bacon I use

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2006
I always like trying out mexican style recipes and this one was fun and new. I added in a packet of taco seasoning to the meat along with some cumin. I also didn't add the beans to the mixture- I spread them on the tortillas while layering them. I split the mix into two 8 inch round pans and froze one since I was only cooking for two. I served it with shredded lettuce and sour cream and it was great! I'm having some leftovers for lunch right now!!

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2006
I thought it was a nice change from the traditional stuffing. I didn't stuff the turkey - I baked it in a covered dish for 1 hour at 350. I got a lot of compliments on this dish. Thanks!

Suzy's Mashed Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2006
This recipe was pretty good, but a little flavorless. I added a lot of salt and pepper, parsley, and some garlic salt. Otherwise, it was a nice base recipe.

Beef Bourguignon III

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2006
I followed the recipe almost exactly, but the meat came out pretty tough. The sauce was a little watery, and my guests liked the bacon and onion garnish the best! I wish the meat could have matched...

Beef and Bean Chimichangas

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2006
Really really really good. This is the second time I've made them, and my roommate came home and said, "You made these individually? You're crazy, you could just use frozen ones!" But when he tried it, he said it hit the spot:) I also added a small can of diced chiles. The outside was nice and crispy - I wish it stayed like that after reheating. I served it with sour cream, lettuce, guacamole and the Mexican Rice III from this website. It was a great Mexican dinner!

Mexican Rice III

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2006
This recipe was really good, I've been looking for a mexican rice recipe for a while. However, some of it seemed almost mushy like it was overcooked, and other parts were crunchy, like it didn't cook enough. I'm sure this is something I'm doing, since whenever I try to cook rice not using a rice cooker it comes out this way. Does anyone have any tips on how to cook the rice evenly?

Artichoke Spinach Lasagna

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2006
I thought this was a really nice vegetarian change from my usual meat filled menu. My boyfriend still complained that there was no meat, yet he wolfed it down. The rosemary flavor was a little too strong for me. I used a tbs of dried... next time I will cut it down to 1/2 and grind it so there are not such big chunks. Otherwise a great and versatile recipe! I might try it with some meat next time...

Guacamole

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2006
Just ok. This was my first time making real guacamole... I had to add a lot of salt and cayenne. I think my boyfriend and I prefer the packet of seasoning! But still, this was a nice change from the "generic" guac:)

Angel Hair Pasta with Shrimp and Basil

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2006
This recipe was ok. I too used only one can of tomatoes since I don't like them that much, and previously frozen cooked shrimp. I was worried about there not being enough flavor, so I added a bunch of red chili pepper flakes and salt. My boyfriend who doesn't really like shrimp seemed to enjoy it and was surprised that there was so much flavor with such little sauce. Overall, this was pretty good. Thanks!
