Empty nester that is embracing my new life and new freedom. I love cooking and when I cook I want those that eat my food to feel the love I put into preparing the dish or meal. Love entertaining but is very content with cooking a meal for two, just ask me husband.
My favorite things to cook
Love creating dishing that incorporate seafood with rice, Southern Cuisine to Italian Dishes I love chopping and mixing to baking I love it all!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving is my dearest family cooking tradition. Homemade Carrot Cake to preparing 2 different stuffing one traditional the other is a Louisiana recipe I acquired many years ago. For Christmas I tend to go opposite of Thanksgiving, some years I do a seafood theme with oyster stuffing, crab legs, baked Stuffed Red Snapper or maybe even thing Italian just depends on my mood.
My cooking triumphs
Baking a carrot cake from scratch frosting and all.
My cooking tragedies
First time I cooked in my very first apartment I was making boxed macaroni & cheese and put some red hot sausages in the same pot. I only had one pot, needless to say I had pink macaroni. I tried to cover it up with adding the cheese powder, milk & butter but it was an Epic Fail. One my husband has yet to forget even 23 years later. So I bought a cook book the next day and have progressing every since. Loving this food journey
